Where is Cheney?

I've been glued to the television this week watching what is happening in Louisiana and Mississippi. It is totally sickening to watch those poor people sitting on their roofs in the heat, no food, no water and no relief in site. And more sickening to think about those that never made it out of their attic and are now dead or dieing there.

Tonight it dawned on me - where is Dick Cheney thru all of this? I did a google search and couldn't find any references to him except for the same question: Where is he?

I'm trying to keep my silver helmet off my head, but why would the Vice President of the United States not appear during the largest natural disaster of the century? He is off sick somewhere and they are covering up that fact?

Who knows? They always hide him.
I mean, he is so rarely out there, that sometimes I wonder if he is still alive.

I saw a man on TV today that looked just like Cheney, and I immediately realized I havent seen or heard him at all through all this! Bush and Cheney are having a beer somewhere grumbling because they have to finally show their faces all too soon.....and that is inturupting their summer vacation! OMG!

He does hide a lot. He probably just doesn't want to deal with this. I know he attended some cabinet meeting though, I did read that. But he isn't going public. Compassion isn't his strong suit.

I think he is on vacation right now.

I'm surprised it took this crowd this many days to find a way to turn things into an anti-Republican bash. How typical.

Exactly! Where the hell is anyone serving in our office right now! Why isnt Bush and the first lady out there hands on right now! Oh ya, he's to fly over and look tomarrow....What good is it going to do anyway, all our money is rebuilding other countries that we blew apart! And why, to save the oil refineries, so we were assured gasoline in the future? Oh ya, and weapons of mass destruction, I forgot.LOL!
My house was flooded exactly a year ago, and hmmmmm...FEMA couldnt help us because they ran out of funds,LOL! And our flood insurance policy that weve payed into for years was void because FEMA turned in evaluation damage reports on our house....with estimates of $0.00 because of lack of funds, but because they were here, it counted as assistance! Even if these poor people do get anything, it will be months to years before it gets to them, trust me! Bush isnt going to want to 'dip' into reserves of any kind...because we might need it in the future, LOL!

At least when Clinton lied, no body died!

This is not about politics. I don't care what party is holding office right now. This is about saving the lives of thousands of people. In all my years, I have never seen a vice president not be at the frontline of a disaster. I can understand keeping a president away due to his safety, but never a VP! The governor's of both states asked Bush not to visit until Friday - that is understandable - but his second in command?

Put all politics aside and think about this!!

Yeah right, that is all they are doing for sure. Where have you been?

Funny, I just checked google on news articles and came up with answer immeditely:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20050831...h_050831171455

Published August 31, 2005. Yes he is in Wyoming. Quote: The president held a video conference with staff in Washington and New Orleans, and with Vice President Dick Cheney, who is in Wyoming, on Wednesday morning.

Also in times of national emergencies, its a good idea to keep the president and vp seperated and this day in age with technology, they can have the same information coming as fast as the president gets it with video and other link ups. I do find it odd though we haven't seen him much though.

He's in Wyoming, and was included in video conference planning meetings (including this morning.) A simple news search shows that.

BULL! On this site there is a noticable anti-Republican crowd that tries to turn almost anything into an "I hate Bush" thread. As I mentioned above, it's easy to check on Cheney through news sites. I find it amazing so many of the personal attacks in many threads directed at Republicans, Christians, Southerners, Conservatives, and many others are allowed to continue. Why don't YOU "Put all politics aside and think about this." Get a clue.

So when do you spout your standard "I hate Bush?" How about your repeated calling of everyone that doesn't agree with or vote with you (including me!) "idiots", "to stupid to know what's good for them", "self destructive masochists", and many others.

Folks! Cool it, please. This is getting too personal. If anyone has a bone to pick with anyone else, please do so privately. And while I'm at it, please let's forego the pleasure of turning yet another topic into a bashing of the current administration. Like 'em or not, you've got 'em for now. There's plenty of meat for discussion in the events without turning this into a political free-for-all. Please and thanks.
