Hey all!
I'm kinda new, only a few posts under my belt, so I thought I'd do a proper intro.
I'm a 20 yo college student (major is animal science, behavior/wellbeing) who is usually more of a dog person than anything, but an animal lover in general.
As part of a class project, I have decided to foster underage kittens for the local shelter. I will prob be getting my first kitten next week, hopefully Wednesday. I went out and bought little dishes, a scratching thing, small litter box, Feline Pine litter (thanks for the suggestions everyone), and some Kitten Chow (will be mixing with Wellness or another higher quality food eventually, but the shelter feeds Purina so I want to avoid upset tummies) -- I'm all set once I get an extra litter scoop from home and some towels and arrange everything in a large dog crate downstairs! Can you tell I'm psyched?
Yay for kittens!
I also have a cat at my parents' house, Snap, who is about 9 yo and has been with my family since he was 6 mo and followed me home from school
. Snap has had a lot of health issues, partly due to being an outdoor cat for a while and partly just because he is a clutz.
Snap now has a large fenced in area to play in outside and sleeps in the workshop at night and his allergies and clutzyness seems to have decreased (yay!).
If you want to know more just ask! I've already learned a lot on this site and hope to expand that knowledge even more.
