..hi friends!

As you know, we only have to Milky!
...and we´re his servants!
......
....
.....

He´s a male neutered and this October he turned his 4 years old.....IMO he´s very Jelousy about other cats because our home is like a "capsule"....we have gardens front and back but hight walls, and at least we don´t see any Feral Cat during the day....(Maybe some tresspaser during the night but Milky is 90% indoorcat because he went out at the gardens BUT under surveillance mine or Gema´s eyes!
......

The fact is this....I was wondering if we decided maybe in a near future to Adopt to other kitty, wich one would be the best option for him?????....I mean....Male or Female???? Kitten or Adult?????...Of course the new Cat going to be neutered or spayed as well would be....
In other words .....which gender he don´t would be soo extremely jelousy??????

I´m not sure wich one would be the best option BUT I really apreciate your comments about it

In advance thank you so much!

Hi! I had the same problem with my Pandy (female spayed) who did not get along with any other animals or humans! I had actually adopted her when I still had Cleo(spayed female) who was getting older and enjoyed the company of other cats. Pandy was extremely possesive and when I tried to bring a kitten home it only showed me within 2 weeks that this was not going to work! I was forced to find a new home for the kitten. She would not hang out with me, moped around, and became very depressed.
Sometimes cats who do not get along with others take it as punishment when you bring a new one into their home, as though they did something wrong. I could only suggest trying an overnight or two tryout to see how he feels. It sounds like you really love him and you want him to know!
Goodluck!

I think a female would be better. Bijou and Mika took a little while to warm up to each other but they are doing very well and love each other and sleep and play with each other.

I believe Carolcat's Jasper wouldn't take to another cat (they tried several times) and we took a chance on sending Tia from Canada and she and Jasper are doing very well. You can check with her on that to see if I'm right about them trying several time to get Jasper to accept another cat.

I think a lot of times, it's how they are introduced to each other. I recommend slowly and patiently.

Milky is so beautiful it would be nice to see him have another kitty as a friend.

W/ the best cats
Female.
When QT and Skinny came along, Joji was ready to kill them
. When Wawa was new, she accepted him pretty quick and so did the other 2 girls.

I think a female - cats are territorial enough to start with, without introducing gender superiority issues as well!!

He'll want to be the dominator, and he'll be much better off with a female companion.

My cat book would recommend a younger female cat. Of course I got two male cats, and they love each other, but they are Persians and the most docile breed on the planet.

Rigel, a younger, girl jr. cat or older female kitten would be great....but having gotten Freddie (14 weeks) for Sasha, who at that time was 11 and alone, we had an angel in Freddie and they were quite close.
When Freddie died, Sasha was depressed for months. So, a younger boy cat made good sense to us!

errr..... do you gernerally think a "couple" would be easier to keep???
I got a girl (approx 3 mnths) and I'm looking into rescuing another kitty from the Singapore streets. Unfortunately, her siblings all have homes now, coz that would have been the easiest i guess...

but what do u reccomend i look for in a companion for my Singa??

see my post Companion??

Another thing.....

Mom and Dad have a cat too....his name is Filou....
is a great boy..you can see him here! :

Mom and Dad has 4 maltese dogs...
....and before to adopt to Filou (he´s a indoor cat and is Neutered!!!!)... they has their doubts like I....( if the Dogs going to accept a CAT!!!!).... But the agree to make the attemp and it was sucessfully!
Filou has 3 years with they!......Mom told me that before to the dogs accept complete to Filou every dog always make a not friendly Glance to poor filou...
........But she told me that the colour of Filou help to the Dogs accept at the CAT.....Why??? because the Dogs has almost the same colour of the CAT!!!
Can you believe this???...And yes is true...

Of course is not a great friendship ( like COMPADRES!!! ) between Dogs and Cat but i cant tell you this..........Dogs and Cat have to attend his own bussynes and everybody are happy......( the most happy are Mom and Dad!
....).....

Well,....Based on that observations............¿do you think that the colour it be a Factor too to put in consideration on the adoption??????????

You do have the face of excitment, Rigel!

How old is Filou?

To answer your questions...

1- We never have cat fights here. Our six cats all get along like a house onfire and that includes my five year old desexed male (Elmo) who is the head of the house and my entire stud (Benja) and my four breeding queens. They are all the best of friends but of course we are lucky because they are Persians and they are a very laidback breed (the zots are even more so!)

2- I've never seen a feral kitty. If there was a wild kitty running around my place I would see what I could do.
