A tribute to Butch, my knight in grey fur...

Dearest Butch, today is the first anniversary of your going to the bridge. I still miss you so much. I wish that I could hold and cuddle you once more, feel the softness of your fur and hear your purrs as I stroked you. I can hardly believe a year has passed since you left me. Sometimes I still forget that you are gone, catch myself listening for your meow or think that I feel you brush against my leg for a pet. I will never forget you, precious one. And no other will take your place in my heart. Play and be happy at the bridge until we can be together once more and remember that although we are no longer together I still and will ALWAYS love you. They broke the mold when they made you Butch, and I know how lucky I was to have you in my life. Thank you for being my friend. I miss you........

Butch was such a beautiful boy. You two were so blessed to share such a long and wonderful life together. I know how hard it must be for you now living without him, but remember Butch is happily waiting for you to join him someday. My heart goes out to you.

Oh, Carol, I type this through a flood of tears knowing the agony you must feel in your heart on this sacred anniversary day. That you have managed to continue with life, one day at a time, speaks volumes to the strong woman that you are. You know Butch is now in Heaven, so happy as he watches over you, yet he left behind an emptiness in your heart, still heavy with grief. They say it gets easier with time, but never eases completely. Precious Butch is with you now, always a part of your life, right there with you in your heart. Prayers for your on this special day as you face this terrible sorrow.

I once had a Siamese cat named "Butch". He was the sweetest thing and I still miss him (it's been over 20 years since he passed). Thanks for sharing your story. R.I.P. Butch.

Dear friends, thank you for your kind words about my fur knight. He truly was a one of a kind cat and my poor words cannot do justice to his sweetness or his love. It was mainly people on this site that helped me to get through the agony of his passing and I would like to thank each one of you. Only those of us who truly love cats and who have cats that truly love us can understand the loss. Bless all of you.

Carol, that was such a sweet and touching tribute to your angel Butch. I am sure he is purring from the Bridge right now and loves you just as much to this day as you do him .

It is easy for those of us who read this tribute to feel the love you have for this cat, Butch. How precious are our cats and how much we love them. Thinking of you and praying for peace in your heart. I am dealing with the loss of my beloved Max this July 11th. Not a day goes by without thoughts of him and I understand your loss competely.
How blessed a cat was Butch to have had someone who loved him then and still loves him now.

Carol -

I wish there was some way I could make it easier for you. I can only say that your heartfelt feelings of sorrow have eased my own sorrow for the cats I have lost. All my love to you, sweetheart.

Beautiful! It made me cry reading this. My beloved Chelsea passed away last Tuesday and I am still grieving so it's really nice to know that someone out there really cares. Pets are the most precious creatures!

Again I say thank you to the kind members of this forum. It is so horrible when our babys must leave us and so many here have lost fur babys in these past two years. My heart goes out to each of you who have lost one or more of your fur ones also.
