Theres a stray cat that my neighbors tossed out about 8 months ago. I have been feeding him and stuff.. and last night when I was taking my dogs out.. I noticed that the stray cat (simba) brought me a gift. On my porch was half of a dead mouse's bloody body. Anyone elses cat ever done this for them? lol

Yes. The outdoor-indoor cat we used to have would kill mice, eat the head, and bring the rest to us.

Fred brought me presents all the time when he was an indoor/outdoor cat. His favorite was moles, but he would bring the occasional squirrel, chipmunk, or bunny.

Angel ate everything BUT the head. That was left on the porch for me to find and lavish her with praise.

Peppersmommy..do you happen to know if he is neutered? It would be a good thing to have him neutered if he isn't so that he doesn't inpregnate other cats.

Yeah.. I had all the stray cats neutered/spayed.
He only ate off the head too.. there was just half a body and a tail.. it was pretty gross and sad.. but it was nice of him to think of me and bring me a gift lol.

Bobber saved me a tail from a chipmunk Saturday-well actually only about an inch of the tail. But Bakker found it-I don't know what happened with it. Sometimes Bobber will leave the head and eat the rest!!

Ugh, yes. Harvey goes outdoors once in a while (it scares me to death but I have to admit that it's a quiet street, the neighbors are animal-friendly, and all the alley cats are s/n, so I'm willing to squirm a little so he can have a chance to go out and run around sometimes), and unfortunately he developed quite a rat habit this summer. He would deposit fully intact dead rats right at the door.

I appreciate his attempts to contribute to the family resources, but really - YUCK! And poor little rats! And what made him think I needed his help anyway, since I'm the only one around there with opposable thumbs and the ability to open cans?

On the other hand, I'd still rather see the rat population kept under control that way than by poisoning or whatever.

My boy used to bring home birds but we would tell him off and ignore him when he did. So then he decided that beetles were the way to go....He would kill them, drop them off at the backdoor and then proceed to yowl as loud as he could until we came and lavished him with praise!!

At least he learnt that birds were a bad thing!!
