Amazing! I was expecting it to be some sort of a gag or cartoon. I hope they find out who she is and why she was unsupervised at the pool.

Yes that has been all over the news here today - those are still shots from the video shown on the news. Apparently there are cameras in 4 public pools across the country. I bet there will be more now!

That's pretty cool. I guess something like that would help in crowded pools.

Those pictures are horrifying! Poor girl, just drowning there, all by herself. I'd heard of this system in France, glad that it's being installed in other countries. It's an amazing system.

Wow, now there is no excuse for every pool to not have these. I think they will be expected by the swimmers now!

that is so refreshing to hear some good news! And even if this computer only saves one life, then it was money well spent!

Oh my! Just looking at the pictures left me breathless! Amazing use of technology! I know if I had a choice and were a Mom, I'd have my kids swimming at the pool with the camera! (also closely supervised by me or course!)

I can't understand how someone can bring a child to the pool and not know what had happened to her. Didn't these people realize the child was missing?

In the summer, pools are crowded. All it would take would be for her guardians to be distracted for two minutes, long enough for her to run down and jump into the deep end.

Children drown very quickly. In the US alone, about 1500 children per year drown. Many more are near-misses.
