Burglars bake poor little dog in oven

I just read this and I think I'm going to be sick! It also said that they pre-heated the oven to 400' degrees before throwing the little Rat Terrier, Zoe, in to bake alive. The owners said all Zoe ever wanted to do was play, and she probably kept bringing these two burglars her toy, and that's why they did this to her.
Also, the Savannah, Georgia officials did not want this story published because they do not want people to think that Savannah is a crime ridden place. But these two men have been doing this type of stuff since they were young, only receiving a slap on the hand every time in the past, and people are not going to be quiet anymore!
I myself would have been screaming when they (or anyone else) started this type of behavior in my town(or anywhere esle for that matter)!!! I sure hope they are punished to fit this crime....but are people charged with animal cruelity ever punished accordingly?

Burglary Suspect Charged with Animal Cruelty

Two people are in jail after being arrested for burglarizing a Southside Savannah woman's home. Not only are they being charged with burglary, one of them is also being charged with animal cruelty.

Police say the crime committed inside the home was unimaginable.

"It's bad enough too be burglarized," said Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Bucky Burnsed. "You feel violated, your things have been gone through, you're missing stuff. But to have the burglar kill your family pet, leave water running in the house to do further damage, is just disgusting."

Investigators say the woman who lived there walked inside her home and not only noticed items missing, but she also noticed her oven was on, with a strong stench coming from inside.

"The officer came in, did a further search," said Burnsed. "It was the officers who found the dog in the oven."

After receiving an anonymous tip from a watchful neighbor, police arrested 19-year-old Alexander Davis and 24-year-old Evelyn Williams, who was found with Davis at a pawn shop trying to sell items stolen from the house. While investigators continue their investigation, they say what was found in the home was one of the most disturbing discoveries they've ever made.

"It was a particularly disgusting event," said Burnsed.

Davis faces several felony counts including cruelty to animals. Evelyn Williams has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property. Both are behind bars waiting to be arraigned.

I started to read this post earlier and couldn't finish because I couldn't see through the tears. I hope the perpetrators get their a**es nailed to the wall. The laws against animal cruelty are far too weak and it makes me want to scream. I don't know how people can do such horrible things to animals!

How hideous. The penalties for such crimes are never severe enough, but someone who does this to a defensless dog is evil and should never see the light of day.

Trust me when I Savannah is OUTRAGED and EVERYONE is putting immense pressure on the ADA to prosecute that to the fullest extent of the law. I haven't heard the town in such an uproar over a crime (as we all should be!) in quite a while!

This whole entire day, the only thing I can think about is how her little feet must have been burning....and how she must have screamed. And how they must have been laughing. And the anguish of thoughts her poor mommy has. And praying for her to get through this. These 2 *edited* would not be able to see or hear or talk or poo if they had come to my house and did this! (sorry I had to let that out)

Someone should bake these @ssholes in the oven. All I have to say.

Sometimes, expecially when it comes to animals.. I wish they did a "Do unto you as you did onto others"

I wonder how a human would like it if they were tied outside with a chain digging into their neck and no food and only dirty water for a week, or if they were beaten with sticks and forced to either fight another perpetrator or die.

I agree that they should be baked in the oven; see how it feels to be cooked alive.

Yup yup yup an eye for an eye in this situation and all situations of animal cruelty. That is disgusting, despicable and truly horrifying. I cannot think what to say that would be bad enough for that revolting specimen. Except as you say, to bake him alive and see how he likes it - only preferably with a whole lot of dogs, cats and people watching and laughing.

The thing that is really scary is that a very high percentage of people who perpetrate this kind of cruelty to animals end up as serial killers. Something needs to be done about this boy before he starts killing people, too. Hopefully he'll do something accidentally to himself and end up either dead, crippled or in prison. Stupid rotten %$#@*&

I was about to mention this link. At the very least, this scumbag (that's putting it VERY VERY VERY lightly, I know) will end up committing acts of domestic violence and child abuse- at the VERY least.
When I was at the courthouse for a meeting yesterday, I saw our chief Assistant District Attorney and he confirmed that his office is under IMMENSE pressure from people all of the country to prosecute this to the fullest extent. What burns my butt is that the max sentance he can get for this is 5 flippin' years. THAT law needs to change. He doesn't deserve to see the light of day- ever!

Only FIVE years for this crime? Are you serious???

These people (or anyone who tortures animals like this) have SERIOUS MENTAL ISSUES. Emotionally hard-wired to torture & kill... they'll move on and do it again, because they'll only get a slap on the wrist for this. Next, it'll be their kids.

I heard about this story I swear I got sick. WHY ARE HUMANS so cruel! What's our world coming to anyway?????

Exactly why this was all I could think about yesterday....This *edited* will only get a couple of years maybe, and he'll probably get out early. The courts know these people will kill again, it's been proven over and over. They let child molesters and animal cruelity criminals out every day, only to bring them back again after they murder another child and torture another animal. While drug dealers and petty theifs spend decades in prison. Makes no sense to me...but neither does our government for that matter!

With the results we've had in some big cases here in Chatham County lately, I honestly am very scared that no one will see justice in this case

I hope the ADA carries through. Unfortunately, I can tell you from far to much experience that often the DA's office talks big at the beginning (when there is plenty of press) then backs off when the press dies down. Without constant public pressure (local pressure - from voters - not from people outside the area) these cases become low priority. Courts in this country have a long history of imposing little or no punishment in even the most horrific cases (fortunately some judges have been very notable exceptions.)

The best hope for the strongest possible prosecution and sentencing is if someone or some group (local) takes the lead and keeps this case in the public eye.

Just to give you an idea of where I bet this is all headed (and it's NOT GOOD)...check this out:http://www.nopuppymills.com/forum/pr...ad.php?t=22283
That's the kind of justice animals are given in this town
post #20 of 23
There should be a stronger charge than animal cruelty. 5 years after TORTURING a loving defenseless pet?????????? How is that justice? How long did that poor dog suffer? How long before the family gets that picture out of their heads? Probably NEVER! The family of the dog should sue for mental anguish.

The legislature needs to come up with a charge that is more fitting (like animal murder with special circumstances - torture) that would carry a much more severe penalty.

In the meantime these skumbags should serve the full 5 years cleaning dog poo at an animal shelter with their own toothbrush.

Actually, they should have gas dumped on them and be set on fire. Now, THAT is justice!!!! I am so sorry if this sounds wrong, but I have no place in my heart for such evil people.
