Just saw this thread and was mourning Nutter and will pray for all of them but esp Bermuda!! I soo hope this kitty can beat the odds. Poor little Manx babies. I know this situation looks like a mistake but why oh why do ppl breed for disaster, knowing the probs many manx have. Maybe the mom herself was a breeding failure and some unscrupulous sort just left her to fend for herself. I do think you are right about her leaving the brrod - mama cats know about these things as you well know.

I sooo hope the remaining trio will survive thanks to your ministrations!!

CyberKitten- with all due respect. It is highly likely that these kittens were the result of a wild colony that is unmanaged. This is a rural area, we are a farming community. There are no breeders in my immediate area, and if these kittens had been born of an ethical breeder- then they would have been put down immediately.

Nugget had not holes to deficate or urinate by, Bermuda was sickly from the beginning and Barley has an extra tail, and no toe on his back foot. These were not kittens designated to be sought after by adoptive kitty parents. These are the product of an inbred society of feral cats and momcat knew her kittens were dying which is why she left them in the middle of a hay field.

Don't paint Manx breeders with your disaster brush. Manx are beautiful cats, they produce for the most part healthy and strong kittens, and if they don't- the people who are breeding for the right reasons, will do the right thing and end their life with mercy.

I am so sorry about Bermuda MA!! How sad!! And I did not mean to paint all Manx breeders with the same brush - sorry if it came across that way - I just see some nonethical breeders selling what they call Manx kitties and it irks me - esp as one who has a disability, is involved in disability rights and is a phsyician. I just cannot tolerate at all any more and say so at any turn now - I figure I have only so many yrs left to do that! Not to be melodramatic, just a fact of life. I know there are some ethical Manx breeders and did think the ones you found were wild but they reminded me of the ones I have seen in pet shops for example - with displasia and worse. Anyway - I am so sorry for your own loss and for wee Bermuda who never had much of a chance tho at least thx to your compassion died knowing love!

MA, I just saw this, just trying to catch up on threads. I am very sorry. At least these kittens knew kind touch and loving care for the brief time they were here.

Alfalfa is fading now.
I won't give up till she does- but it doesn't look good. I don't think this litter is destined to be on earth very long. Prayers would be welcomed-.

Awwww poor sweet thing! That's so sad about those kits.....good vibes to them!!! As long as they're on this earth, know that they have someone so loving and devoted to look after them. At least they knew love and will not leave earth alone...you will be there by their sides the whole way. And they will thank you for it.
