Hi everyone! You are about to hear some major venting!!!!
I went to work today thinking it was going to be a good day. I was going to have my 90 day review and was going to get a raise!! So i thought...
I was there for about 20 mins. and they called me in for my review... I was happy to get it over with. Then I sat down and noticed a pay check and a yellow form they use for clients who are making payments on their bills. Keep in mind this is a vet clinic, I had had sick animals, so I had a $2000 bill
They told me they would reduce it to $1000. That was nice, I guess. But they want me to make $100 payments a month. HELLO, you just fired me. I have no income!!!!

So they said the doctors had nothing bad to say about me, that I was a great tech. Some one my co-workers had a problem with me! whatever!!!!
They said they didn't want to get into it. Thanks, now I know what went wrong!?!?! I didn't really like it there, and was looking around
I guess someone called them for a refernce

See the thing that gets me is at the end of last year I was fired from a clinic that I worked at for 4 years!!! They said I had an "attidtude problem with my co-workers" After 4 years?!?!? I think the real reason I was let go was because I hurt my back there... But anyways... I have never had such bad luck with jobs before in my life.
I am a very hard worker, love working with animals... I guess I am just not a people person. But after this I am real down on myself. Why don't people like me???

I do like you. Well, you didn't like that job, so keep looking. I'm certain there is another job out there for you! Best of luck in finding it. Take a day or two to feel bad about being let go, then get to finding something better!

Also, if the vet was happy with you, would s/he be willing to write you a letter of reference? Then the new jobs are less likely to call and hear vague reports about you, you will have it in writing!

Don't give up. Just because you may not be a people person doesn't mean
they don't like you! Good luck on finding another job.
I think you're right about them getting a call for a job reference though and thats why they let you go.

FOR SURE go sign up for unemployment. I don't know how your state is, but here, when someone is on unemployment, the unemployment office can help the person find new work.
I sorry to hear about your job, though...that sucks. NOT COOL of them not to tell you what the specific problem was...maybe it was something that you could have worked out.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles!!
That's why I didn't go into Veterinary medicine. I LOVE animals, it's the people I don't like(sometimes)!!
So I'll stick with rehabilitation & conservation efforts.

I am in almost the exact same boat!!

I was told I didn't pass the IV training but the more I have thought about it and talked it over a little I realize I just didn't fit in.
I was never part of their little group.
I was never included in any of the group conversations.
I always thought people were talking about me as soon as I left the room, and now I think I was right.

It really sucks to be treated like you dont belong when you are doing the best you can.
I'm like you, I dont understand why people dont like me.
I try to be helpful and sympathetic to their troubles which someone is always in the middle of some drama.
But if it's me, no one cares in the least!
Mean people SUCK!!

Hm... are you a really "take charge" kind of person? Maybe they thought you were being bossy O_O

People think that of me because I get annoyed at the way they do things (if it is a group thing) I dont like how people either wont do something, do it too slow, or just dont do a good job, and end up doing it myself. (expecially in school) the one time I didnt offer to do most of a group project guess what happened... that person didnt turn in their paper and the group grade suffered for it.

Some people are just made to work more by themselves.. maybe you are one of them?

I think it's probably because you are too nice. I've run into a lot of people in my life who disliked me because of this. There are some people who think you are weak or insincere if you don't show any b*tchiness. They don't know what it's like to be nice so they don't understand you. Then they start spreading rumors and, for some reason, they are able to convince others that the rumors are true.

Hang in there. You'll find a place to work where you feel like you fit in, just like you fit in here at TCS.

A lot of work environments have cliques just as bad as high school. Unfortunately some of them revolve around people with seniority or power, so if you don't fit them like a glove, your employment there can be uncomfortable and/or short.

You can't take it personally... it could be something as petty as you came to work 1 minute late two days in a row. I've worked in a few places where other spiteful employees watched every move the newer employees made, assumed they knew what that person was *supposed* to be doing at that moment when they didn't, and then spread rumors about their terrible work ethic when they were really an exemplary employee. They get a kick out of making others look bad, usually to hide their own deficiencies. That type of behavior can unfortunately plant a negative seed in some boss' brains and depending on the boss, from there on out you could work circles around everyone else but they'll only see the few negative things.

That's happened to me a couple times in the past. At one job, I was nose-to-the-grindstone all the time but despite running at full throttle, one lady I didn't get along with convinced the boss I was a slacker. Sometimes the only thing hard about some jobs is figuring out the environment and gaining respect within it. Don't give up! You'll find the right job with the right people, and you'll never want to leave!!!

Yes, it happens, unfortunately. But then you can always have your vengeance when you are let go/fired/quit/etc., and suddenly all of their productivity reports take a nosedive
heh-heh. And sometimes serendipitously you'll find a much better job that will fit you, and the people around you, like a glove. Look on it as an opportunity, rather than a disaster. Go for it!

You hit it right on the nose Sooz!!!
One of the girls that worked there said that some people used to tell her the wrong way to do things, so she would get into trouble. How sad is that?
The lady I didn't get a long with was 55years old, not 16!!!

Oh hon, I'm so sorry. If it's any consolation, I like you, no matter what those b*tches say! You can come and work with me! I need someone I like working with me, I hate my job and would love to have someone I like there to talk to.

That is terrible! I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your job. I hope that you find a new job quickly with much better fellow employees. A group of people who work together should be a team, not a competition! Good luck, hon!
