I just found out that a local gas station could not get a full delivery here on the east coast of Central Florida. Maybe rationing is next.

Could be.
I just talked to a friend who's father works for an oil company, they've just shut down one of their major pipelines.
He warned of prices leaping in the next week.

President Bush is going to start pulling from the reserves so hopefully this will help until they are able to able to get all of the repairs made to the refineries and pipelines and everything is working smoothly again. At $4 a gallon I might need to convince my boss to let me work from home to save gas money!

On the days I need to go down to Ft. Stewart to do work, it's 100 miles round-trip. Gas rationing is going to have a drastic affect on goods and services

I heard this as well, but I also heard on the local news that using our reserves will not help lower the price of gas or stop it from rising. I was on my way out the door this morning for work though so I didn't get all the details.

Grrrr. I really need to stop reading these threads. And I really need to stop and get gas tonight.
Thankfully I'm taking tomorrow and Friday off work and of course Monday is a holiday. I'm not planning on going anywhere so the plan is for four full days to stay home and not drive. Ah well, maybe I'll finally get my apartment cleaned up. ANd I'm sure my kitties will be thrilled to have me home.

It sucks because usually during the holiday weekend I go to a lot of get togethers but it's just too expensive to go anymore. It's not the gas prices it's the cost of everything else going up that's killing me.

I heard the owner of a Marathon station speaking on the radio yesterday afternoon. He said his cost for gas went up by 20 cents a gallon yesterday, and was to go up an additional 45 cents today. 65 cents increase to the retailers in one day! I filled up yesterday, and am talking to a co-worker about carpooling.

However, I have a trip to Michigan this weekend, to take my son to visit his dad. Thats gonna be expensive! And if there is rationing, it may be impossible!

Ain't that the truth, I was planning on going a visiting some friends next weekend. But they live three hours away, I can't make that drive if gas prices don't get under control.

Thankfully I only work 8 miles away from home. So I drive a total of 16 miles round trip. I used to go home everyday for lunch but I've already cut that down to twice a week. Looks like I may cut down to less as well. I hate spending money on gas.

i went to walmart yesterday and drove by a little gas station(one of the cheapest in town), at $2.50 we were in walmart for maybe 15 mintues... on the drive back.... it was $2.75... still one of the cheapest in town... It was $2.45 everywhere 3 days ago.

It cost me $20 today to fill up less than half a tank! And i have a tiny Sunfire. I couldnt imagine driving a truck or SUV right now.

And we are talking about $4 a gallon? This is ridiculous!

Here's an article about the gas shortage in Colorado:

http://9news.com/acm_news.aspx?OSGNA...7-c589c01ca7bf

I know we both filled up on Sunday, knowing full well that the gas prices were going to spike after the hurricane (whether warranted or not). So far, it's only gone up 15 cents per gallon, with the average around town at $2.69, but on the radio they said they found one station that was asking $3.49 for regular! Can you say "Price Gouging"?

Puerto Rico... land of rice and beans.
Are you sure you people don't want to consider the "Puerto Rican style"?
(In Puerto Rico its against the law for a gas station to sell gasoline at a profit higher than 12 cents a gallon)

Anyway... here some gas stations have ended up at nearly 89 cents a liter!

WHAT are we going to do guys?!?!?!? I live 20 miles from my school and work. Well I barely work right now as I'm barely getting hours. I know I spend over $60 a week on gas. My husband is driving our truck b/c the car is dead - that's well over $80 a week.

I'm scared....we are budgeted so bad right now I'm barely spending on food.

what's next??

I wish we had the funds to buy another little car.

I'm sure wishing I lived closer to where I go to college and I'd probably be riding my horse to school!!!!

My van has two tanks - each 15 gallon. Lately been only filling one because we don't have to go many places (mom's reitired, I'm on disability) and that's into town twice a week for the lapidary (keeps us sane) and to the grocery.

MOrning new showed prices here approaching $3.
