We recently had a stray cat adopt us. She is now very pregnant. We took her to the vet yesterday and they told us she could deliver anytime in the next week. Tonight when I got home, I noticed a small amount of discharge. It is greenish and the consistency of mucus. Is this normal? Is this a sign of the onset of labor? We've had cats for years but never been through the pregnancy & birthing experience. I have no idea what to expect and I think I am probably obsessing about this too much.

No need to obsess, but it is always a good idea to be prepared! Read the article that TNR1 left for you in her reply and just ride it out.

Everything you have described sounds very normal so far. We'll just keep positive thoughts coming that it stays that way for both you and for your newly adopted girl! Let us know how it goes!

Best of luck,

~gf~

Aw... I know just how you feel. Same thing happened to me. Luckily kitties do it pretty well on their own, but it's a good idea to know what's natural & normal, and when it's time to worry. At least reading articles will make you feel a little stronger, PLUS it gives you something to do while waiting!

LOL @ Kim ... I hadn't thought of it that way but you are right! The only problem with it is that I'll get to reading something and then just get up to walk back and check on Lexus. I don't ever finish reading!

Thanks for the advice. There's absolutely nothing going on today. We could feel the kittens moving quite a bit this evening. We'll just keep checking on her. I think her being in the bathroom is probably making her restless though. It's certainly driving our indoor cats nuts
