My cats eat Merricks wet food. It comes in like 10 differnt flavors, I'd like to buy a couple of each flavor for them, would this cause a stomach upset or is it ok since it is the same brand of food just differnt flavors? Thanks.

I think it can do. Cats are creatures of habit, and don't get bored with eating the same thing every day like we would. I'm sure someone knowledgable will be along to correct me if I'm wrong

Some cats are finicky but i think its safe to say that there are many more flavors of food in stores than there are in nature. Mice. Birds.....birds, mice. Many cats are happy with the same flavor day in day out....

I feed wellness wet and change the flavour everyday. It's better to feed a variety of flavours as you're giving them a multitude of ingredients and that way you know they're not going to have a deficiency of anything by getting only one food for their whole life.

Pat & Alix should be along shortly. They are more knowledgeable about nutrition than we folks are, but I believe the others are correct regarding cats being creatures of habit and not minding having the same flavour they like every day and if you are using the same brand I should imagine that all the flavours essentially contain the same additives for the cats health.

I personally have several different flavours (3 I think) of our wet food. We did find there were some flavours Bijou didn't like as much, so we've pared it down to just the 2 or 3.

Hi, though it is from the same company, the flavors by Merrick really do vary. That said, I know we have one member who deliberately rotates the flavors she offers as her cat does get bored after a bit, and this is how she keeps him happy and eating

I would not personally try a new flavor every day - but pick two or three to try for the next month, and then next time you get Merricks, maybe get the favorite of the flavors again, plus one or two new flavors...so you can gradually, have your kitty try all the flavors.

Consider serving one new flavor for a week, to be sure if there is a reaction, you know it's to that flavor, and not because you tried 2 to 3 new flavors in the same week.

just my 2 cents!

Wellness has garlic, which isn't good for cats. I don't know why they put it in their cat food
It can irritate a cat's esophagus and interfere with kitty's red blood cell production (over time that can be fatal).
