Hello everyone, long time no see! While taking care of my grandparents' house while they were away, I found a stray male cat, begging for the food I was leaving out for raccoons. I fed him some cat food from inside, and I would love to keep him, but four cats are enough for my household. Anyways, I've been searching for someone to take him, and a friend of mine thinks she'd like him. But, she won't get him fixed and actually plans on trying to get more kittens that aren't inbred like many of her cats, which are all outdoor animals. I want this boy to go to a home, but I don't want him going somewhere where all he is going to do is make more kittens the world doesn't need. Should I leave him a stray, or give him a chance at a home (albeit and outdoor one)?

Don't give. Not only would he be contributing to the overpopulation, but by next spring would be breeding with his daughters, to make more inbred kittens. And fighting with other males, etc. Not a good choice for a home, keep looking.

It sounds like he is a stray here, and he will be a stray there as well, as she is planning to have him as an outdoor cat. And the fact that she is actually breeding those cats, the cats are inbreeding, etc-it doesn't sound like a good home at all.

Yeah, I have to say, that sounds like a terrible home. You'd be better off TNRing him.

I'd call that a very bad placement, even if you got him fixed first. Since it's not his territory it would be very likely he'll either roam off or be driven off by a local male. Then what? He's in a worse situation. Even if he's fixed and vaccinated he'll be in strange territory without someone feeding or caring for him. Rescuing him is a great idea, placing him with this person is not.

I would get him neutered. Then attempt to find him another home, if there is no luck and then you can consider the final option of that you gave yourself of keeping him.
