Just got an email from our coordinator. If the injured kitten weren't enough, she woke up to four abandoned puppies dumped in her yard overnight. I don't have too many details yet, just that they're old enough to eat on their own. She currently has them in a kennel in her basement. We love dogs, but aren't set up to care for the puppies longterm, and don't want to take them to the local SPCA because they'll likely just be PTS.

We're spreading the word locally but, if anyone has any ideas or dog connections, please let me know.

Gosh, you sure have your hands full there! What breed are the puppies (closest guess)? Maybe one of the specific breed rescue groups could be helpful? Sorry I don't have much more for you. Wish I could help!

She says a couple of them appear to be Rottweiler mixes. I haven't seen them myself, but will go by tonight to check. Things are crazy right now!

As of 3:00 the puppies are in the care of the Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART) and on their way to the vet, then foster care.

Although this group primarily fosters dogs, they've recently started taking in some kittens, so we gave them some food and supplies and will be staying in touch to offer assistance. I love it when things work out this way!

Some people just make me sick! When I lived in the country I had kittens and puppies dropped off in my yard all the time! Once, I had puppies dropped off that were no more than 2 weeks old...still had there eyes closed.

Bless your heart for caring for these puppies and finding the right place to take them!

I heard from the rescue group yesterday that all four puppies - named Kylee, Miles, Kimmie and Mason - have all been adopted into great homes. I love a happy ending!
