Yup, thats my theory too and there actually is real science to back that up. People I speak to who tell me its normal for young kids to torture small animals, that they are just being kids, not knowing any better, worry me.Originally Posted by CDubbie

all in all another reason to keep our beloveds indoors.
So happy Charlie is doing well! He'll bounce right back since he's young!
Thanks so much for the prayers for Charlie. He apparently got a little spooked by a loud noise in his new home and tried to run away faster than he's actually capable of. It's a set back, but the vet said he should be fine. His new dad is just devasted. And yes, Charlie will be an indoor only cat.Originally Posted by loraandjeff
OMGosh, I just saw this thread for the first time and was so happy while reading it to learn that Charlie had found such a loving forever home. How sad to learn he has hurt himself again, do you know what happened to cause the injury? Please tell me the teacher is keeping him indoors?
I'm so sorry, poor little Charlie will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers. Please do keep us up to date on what is happening with him. Such a sad beginning on such an early life. My prayers that he heals quickly and can learn to be happy & pain free the remainder of his life.

I'm glad Charlie is such a brave little kitty and is recovering from these injuries. It sounds like he has a wonderful purr-sonality.Originally Posted by eilcon
After a temporary setback when Charlie reinjured one of his legs, he has been cleared by his vet to return to normal, active kitten duty.
The pins the vet inserted have done the trick to cause his bones to heal properly and, while he make walk a little funny for a while, he should be just fine! His dad reports that Charlie is a crazy, affectionate little guy, who likes to jump up in bed at play at 3:30 a.m, but said he doesn't mind a bit. Another happy ending!
Regarding the cruelty investigation - with no witnesses the SPCA doesn't think this will go anywhere, but will let everyone know if this changes.
Thanks to everyone for the good vibes during Charlie's recovery. You guys are awesome!
