It's a holiday here in the UK today
So most ppl are off work.... (not that it makes too much of a difference to me as I have not got a job anyway so every day is a holiday
)

In traditional bank holiday fashion I had a little lie in, got up had breakfast and I have just cleaned the windows!

How are you spending today?

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!

I did think fo doing my windows or popping to the Garden Centre to get some Autumn and Winter plants and add a wall of pots, but this rain seems to be foiling my plans!

I am going to enjoy a long hot bath though!

Why does this always happen in the Land of Manc?! *sigh*

Mr. Tolstoy woke us up bright and early - not that I think he gave hubby much chance to sleep anyway
. Daughter phoned us from the Leeds Festival to say they were packing up their tent and waiting for their lift - their tent was burgled on Friday night/Saturday morning so we were relieved to hear from her and that she was ok.

We will probably take a walk into town later before getting back to hear Leicester City get beaten again in the football

Our public holidays are called Bank Holidays Tracey because all the banks and financial institutions don't operate on those days. If I remember correctly this is just the Summer Bank holiday - I don't think it celebrates/commemorates anything in particular. Somebody else may know if it does.

Well, good, I am going to call my boss and tell him I can't come in, no matter that I live in Canada

In seriousness, all of you have a great day off!

I think that's the reason, well explained, nothing else special happening today. I thought that there were 2 Bank Holidays in August though?

I think that's just wishful thinking Gilly
. Next Bank Holiday after this one - Christmas
. The one before it was Spring Bank at the end of May! Not that I live for Bank Holidays or anything!

Didn't we have one earlier in the month? I'm useless at dates so I may be wrong (see, memory of a goldfish!)

It's been sunny all day here so far, not that it makes much difference to me as I'm having a veg out day! I usually do subcontract work on my time off, but I got it all done yesterday and I'm refusing any more for the next few months - seriously need my weekends back again! I started it before I got the kittens so it was fine as I had lots of time, but I think we all know how difficult it is to get anything done when you have 2 four months old kittens running about, standing on keyboards, eating files, chewing paper! So, my time off is now dedicated to my toads!

I'm intrigued by comfort pearls, I'll have to buy some. I usually use lenor blue, and I looooove the smell of it on fresh laundered sheets
