Okay, I HAVE to comment on this...thing...that defaced my TV for about 45 minutes. LOL I only acticely watched for about 15 of those minutes...I was cooking for the rest.
Now, I used to LOVE me some MTV, but man this was bad. Pure spectacle. Diddy, R. Kelly, 50 Cent: PLEASE...get over yourselves, guys!!

The only good thing I saw in the whole time I put up with it was Green Day. Are those REALLY the same guys who did Dookie ?? Geez, American Idiot is freakin' brilliant!!! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Dookie , and most of their other stuff, but this last one was just...great.
Oh, and Beavis and Butthead made an appearance.
hehe I
B&B.

Did anyone else catch the VMAs, in whole or in part?

I didn't watch them tonight (Iron Chef was on) but I'm sure MTV will replay it a bizillion times this coming week so I'll catch it then.

I'm sort of watching it right now. Gwen Stefani looked awesome with the leopard print dress! It looks like Missy Elliot is winning quite a few awards over big name male acts, which is great. Girl power!

I like Dookie. In fact, when I first heard Longview back in 1993 I was listening to lots of 70's punk, and I really dug it. I haven't liked any of their stuff since -- that is until American Idiot came out.

Go Missy! I'm not a huge rap/hip-hop fan, but that's really cool that she's winning over the big-name men in the genre.

The show is STILL going on!
My BF watched the whole Texas Chainsaw Masacre, and just turned it off...and the VMAs are still going. lol
And it was on Beavis and Butthead again!

I'm sure I'll be subjected to it this week when my son comes home. I can't stand rap, but he is in this "phase"..LOL

I have watched a bit of it. Can I just say I LOVE Shakira's new song, and her dancing is odd and quite intruiging, especially in that La Tortua video.

I love "La Tortura", too! I only watched the first hour and a half, but R. Kelley's performance was just BIZARRE! Why was he even allowed to perform, anyway?

I liked The Killers doing "Mr. Brightside" and I am SO proud of Missy- LOVE ME SOME MISSY!

Just bummed I missed Gwen's performance (did she perform?) because I love Gwen Stefani too! Girl power!

Yes R. Kelly's performance was really, really wierd. I always thought his name was Art Kelly ha ha. I don't think Gwen performed anything.....
