I would give the emergency vet a call. I don't think it's anything to mess with and it doesn't hurt to call
Hope the swelling goes down soon

Deep breath One, two and three
Now is his breathing normal?
If so I think it just maybe be a sting
How is he doing now?
You might want give him some benadryl

There isnt always bleeding with a puncture. Athena got one and it didnt bleed at all. Try to get ahold of a vet, if its a sting they can advise you what medication is ok to give. I wouldnt medicate without some vet advice..

I had a boxer that was allergic to bee stings. Not funny...he was in serious condition the day he got stung right on the nose by a bee.

What you are describing sounds like a reaction to some sort-of sting. Please keep an eye on him. My reaction, like yours, was humor at first because his whole muzzle area was so swollen & hard to the touch. He looked ridicilious. Within 15 minutes, I had a 50-lb dog collapse in my house and had to carry him to the car. I raced to vet. with him and they immediately gave him a shot of benadryl. Worked like magic. Figures...I had a Boxer named Buzz that was allergic to bee stings

i have to drive an hour home and unless he stops breathing or collapses (who even knows tho) my mom wouldnt take him to a vet. but this vet is going to call. although sharon (the lady i got him from) said if anything happened to call her and she and her vet friend would take him somewhere..i love them.

Have you checked your dogs gums to see what color they are? Also is your dog licking the area alot? Does your dog seem to notice it or does it seems that he is fine?
