my friend said she went to the salon i'm going to and they didnt remove all the hair properly and (they) said it took more than one go eg. she would have to go back. thats not right is it?

if i end up still hairy i have a right to complain dont i?

susan- how often do you need to get it done?

They say it's best to have at least 5 weeks of hair growth, which is how often i go, but because i go regular the hairs have become a lot finer, and like you i'm not really a hairy person to start with.

It sounds like the hairs may not have been long enough to wax off from the sounds of things?!.

You'll be able to tell if their coming off ok because i normally watch them. Is it only a half leg wax your getting Nicky?

i'm not sure yet if i'm getting half, 3/4 or full. going to ask them what they think.

havent shaved in 6 weeks to prepare! lol

trouble is my leg hair only grows around my ankles and the top of my legs at the back. maybe they'll give me discount?

my friend is italian so her hair is also very thick and course whilst mine is thin and blonde so should rip right out!

That makes sense then if her hair is like that.

Your legs feel lovely afterwards!, might look a bit like chicken skin and red but that goes down after a few hours.

I'm not one for massages, but i love it when they massage the cream in afterwards

The salon may sell a product like "tend skin" that will help prevent ingrowns. If you're not allergic to aspirin, there's also a homemade solution you can make up to prevent ingrown hairs, mixing witch hazel, crushed aspirin, and rubbing alcohol into a solution to apply to waxed areas with a cotton ball. It's also good for treating hairs that are already ingrown. I lost the link for the exact recipe when my computer crashed, but if you do a search for homemade tend skin, you'll probably be able to find it.

Waxing - sometimes I can't believe the things we do for the sake of beauty!

Tend Skin! I was trying to remember the name of that stuff! That's what I use when I get my...sensitive areas waxed.

Don't worry, it only hurts really bad the first time, then you'll just *think* it'll hurt the next time, but after the first pull you'll notice it doesn't hurt as much.

I've never tried waxing. The hair on my legs comes in blonde, oddly enough. With as much as I hate shaving them, I should look into the waxing, though!

Oww Nicky
Sorry to have worried you! I was just pointing out the problems that I have with waxing - every time I get my legs / underarms waxed the hairs grown in - it's really painful. Even if I exfoliate and make sure I put on some cream etc
I wish this didn't happen. My mum has the same problem too. I suppose it just depends on your hair type, and as you are fair you should be okay. My hair on my head is quite thick so is the hair on my legs - I am 1/4 Greek so maybe that's why I am a little hairier than should be?

Oww!, sounds painful, I've only ever had my eyebrows waxed. One good tip though is to make sure the night before that you exfoliate your legs. That might help prevent the ingrown hairs.

Ouch! I am sure the first time is the most painful then once your skin and hair folicles (sp?) get used to it, it won't hurt as much!
