I'm absolutely addicted to all the home improvement/redeccorating/make-over shows on TLC.

I'm as bad about them as some people are about soap operas.

I hear ya. And now that I have 33 days until I move into my own space...I'm kind of obsessed with designing that as well.

The thing is, I'm obsessed with TLC in general. And Discovery Channel. And, of course, Animal Planet!

I watched an episode of "How Clean is Your House" the other day that I just COULDN"T believe was real. It seemed to contrived. These two oriental girls were living in their childhood home in NY (according to the show) and they lived in SUCH filth that I felt that the show found an abandoned, condemned house to do this filming. The house was NEVER cleaned and I mean NEVER. The sisters had lived their whole lives in that home and claimed they never learned how to clean. The bathroom had MEGA amounts of that nasty black mold above the shower. So much that the health dept declared it "uninhabitable" and told them that they could get sick.

Two things that were red flags that the show was a fake were the fact that I didn't see ONE SINGLE cockroach in all that filth and that the girls were well-groomed and healthy for living in squalor. There were clothes all over the house, ground in dirt in the carpeting, BLACK bathroom walls, bodily fluids and dust all over everything (bodily fluids on the phone discovered under a blacklight), brown stove and kitchen sink from dirt, the list goes on and on.

I was sure it was a "set-up" made to LOOK as if these girls lived this way.
I don't trust ANY "reality" series to be real. I absolutely LOVE most of "Fear Factor" for the stunts but I suspect that the people are ALL actors. They have FAR too many well-endowed, blindingly white teeth, and perfectly fit men and women for them to be people with average, everday lives/jobs.

Oh, me, too!!
I love doing that stuff, if I had my own house, I'd be a rebuilding fool. A friend of ours is always trying to get us to come over to his house he is rebuilding to re-sell cuz he knows I'll end up helping with something.

Oooohhh... my hubby had me watching INKED two nights in a row when I had been drinking... I'm fairly certain that I promised to get his name tattoo'd under my wedding band and he said he'd get mine under his.

I don't have doubts about our marriage mind you, I think more fears that we won't be together forever for whatever reason... so what do ya'll think? Should I do it?

I loved the home improvement shows before I bought the house. Now there's so much I'd like to do to it that doesn't *have* to be done, and with me being too lazy to figure out how to do it myself and not really wanting to spend the money, I don't like to get those ideas in my head!!!

I liked all the wedding shows, too, up until our wedding was over... LOL...

I get hooked on the Food Network in phases. Other than that, I really don't watch much television. My family doesn't seem to mind my fascination with the shows on the Food Network, as they all benefit from the tips and recipes!

My main tattooist always told me if you want names put on your body, have them done in Japanese kanji, or even better, Korean
Then later, if for some reason you are no longer with that person and someone asks you about the tattoo, you can tell them it says Death to inquisitive ********

I'm still having to have work done to remove my ex-husband's name completely from my body.

I haven't seen Inked, but TLC has Miami Ink on Tuesdays.

I also love the car make-overs on Overhauling.

Yes, I have heard from tattoists never to get a name on your body, unless its your child's or your pets

They get much business though from cover ups trying to get rid of ex-Bf's and husbands..

I like Inked. I also like "While You Were Out" and shamefully admittedly "What Not to Wear"..

I used to watch Trading Spaces and While You Were Out all the time, and save the ones with ideas I liked on Tivo. Then it got to the point where I wasn't saving ANY, ever, so I stopped watching it. I haven't watched it in a few years, so it's probably changed a little.
