Hi,

Well as you may know I am guest hosting the questions this week for the vacationing Susan. I hope you enjoy these and they bring up some interesting comments. (I am going to post my answers below too since I am so used to answering Susan's each week!)

As you may note there is a theme this week, this next few months are my favorite time of year! I hope I am not being too "american" here either.

1. Do you believe in God? (just seeing if your awake, donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have to answer if you donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want to!...) Yes I do, I believe the life force is what we refer to as God. I don't believe in a single force as in a father figure etc.

2. What is your favorite holiday and why? Thanksgiving! Cause of the food and the gathering for a meal, plus it's not as heavy as Christmas.

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Every Thanksgiving we watch the movie "Planes Trains and Automobiles"

4. What really puts you in a festive mood? Wine and Christmas aurias

5. What is your favorite holiday memory? The time I came home from college and my Mom was going to skip the holiday tree that year,I got so upset she went out super early the next morning and put the tree up before I woke up!

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories? Yeah I threw up egg rolls after a new years party once.

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume? I do, once I was Harpo Marx.

8. What is the weirdest costume you ever saw? Naked people in San Francisco

9.. Does your neighborhood have many trick or treaters? Tons! The kids from the neighborhood across the bridge come over here cause it's dangerous over there, there are literally seas of kids here.

10. Did you do â€œtricksâ€ on houses when you were a kid? Yep, i was alittle hooligan.

11. Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions? The movie watching but also we now go out to dinner at this local place, I love that.

12. Do you like cranberry sauce that maintains the shape of the can? Or the nouveau ones? The old ones that hold the shape of the can.

13. What is the worst present you ever got? ugly sweater from my brother

14. What is the best ? overnight bag for a trip I was taking from my Mom

15. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? And why did it happen? about 7,I figured out it was not logistically possible, I remember it distinctly

No. I don't want to offend anyone, but...no.

2. What is your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas, of course! All of the family, and the tradition and the snow and the food and the presents and EVERYTHING about it! My family goes ALL OUT!

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
We have so many...but it has to be our peculiar ravioli and seafood dinner (we're only completely Italian) on Xmas eve, followed by us opening presents from people BEFORE Santa even arrives the next morning!

4. What really puts you in a festive mood?
Christmas music! (I'm sensing a trend here)

5. What is your favorite holiday memory?
Um...I think last Xmas was pretty much the best one ever.

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories?
Well...I got into a really diabolical fight with my mom one Xmas eve when I was about 14. That was rough.

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume?
Yes I do! I was an Oh Henry bar in elementary school.

8. What is the weirdest costume you ever saw?
Can you top the Oh Henry bar idea? I mean, c'mon!

9.. Does your neighborhood have many trick or treaters?
Nope. Plus, I live in a 6-flat with buzzer security. And I live in a part of the neighborhood that seems to lack single family homes, which is where all the kids live. They tend to be in Park West and I'm in Wrightwood. Not that you have any idea of what I'm talking about. But, we sat aoutside on the front steps last year anyway, me and Leo, and we gave our handful of trick-or-treaters what they came for.

10. Did you do â€œtricksâ€ on houses when you were a kid?
No, I grew up in a very straight-laced "safe" community in the 'burbs where, even as an 8 year old, the cops would have booked us for silly string or anything of the like.

11. Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions?
Nope.

12. Do you like cranberry sauce that maintains the shape of the can? Or the nouveau ones?
I don't like cranberry sauce, actually.

13. What is the worst present you ever got?
Well...hm. I get a lot of stuff I can't or won't use. People that buy me little crappy junk presents...that is a pet peeve of mine. Just save your money, people! It's going in the junk box anyway!

14. What is the best ?
My kitty!!

15. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? And why did it happen?
I think around 11 or so, the gradual understanding that Santa was an outlandish idea just sort of sunk in.

16. Are you a minimalist holiday decorator or a scary â€œNation Lampoonâ€ one, or somewhere in between?
Well, we're a little bit National Lampoon, but in a classy Pottery Barn kind of way.

17. Does your new years usually entail: A) what? I donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t remember I am always bombed out of my gourd by midnight
B) some nice party, ring it in baby! C) indifference, Oh I just sort of sleep through it.
I think a combination of A and B would accurately describe it.

18. Do you do new years resolution?
No, because I make goals and resolutions for myself on a regular basis. New Year's isn't special, especially since my "new year" happens immediately after labor day

19. when was the last time you vomited (Kidding again, but then again could be interesting? ) Um, a drinking indiscretion a few months ago. Oops.

20. And as Susan always asks, anything you need vibes for this week? I need vibes for my move and my upcoming "month of transience" in which I will be staying with a friend between leases. It's guaranteed to be stressful for all!!

i go christmas shopping in frankenmuth mi, its a little german town about an hour away from where i have, it also has the worlds biggest christmas store.

going to chicago for new years in 2003

when my dad wanted to have a family christmas with my mom while they were getting divorced.

christmas... family/friends gather, giving, festivities, snow, decorations, food!

we would have x-mas at my granny & pa's house in TN every year and EVERYone in the family would pile into the house and we would eat and eat and exchange gifts and play dirty santa!

4. What really puts you in a festive mood?
cheerful attitudes... other people being festive, decorations... there is just 'something in the air'

5. What is your favorite holiday memory?
everything at my grandparents... we have so much family and everyone is so fun... it makes for a great time! we all love to get together!

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories?
i dont believe so

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume?
In high school, me and a friend went to a costume party as Thing 1 and Thing 2 (from Dr. Suess) I was Thing 2.

i have seen two people dressed as a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee... that was different

MY (current) CAR!!! Although it was just the downpayment.

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories? Nope, I don't have any of those either...thankfully!

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume? Yep! Didn't get to last year because Brendan's car blew up on Halloween so I was busy trying to comfort him, but most years yes! I always had great costumes since my mom usually made them for me. Most recently though (2 years ago) Brendan and I bought items from Goodwill and went as a new wave 80's couple. They really turned out to be great costumes!

8. What is the weirdest costume you ever saw? I'm not really sure. I've seen some pretty strange ones though, that I am sure of!

9.. Does your neighborhood have many trick or treaters? Where I grew up and where my parents still live -- definitely! At my apartment, none.

10. Did you do â€œtricksâ€ on houses when you were a kid? Nope. Never did.

11. Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions? Not really. We always eat at my parents house and will occassionally have more of the family there or some close friends. I really love having it at home though, so I guess that counts as a tradition, because I'd probably be upset if my parents ever told me it wasn't going to be there.

12. Do you like cranberry sauce that maintains the shape of the can? Or the nouveau ones? Neither!

13. What is the worst present you ever got? Nothing really standds out as being an exceptionally horrible present. I've gotten some things I didn't like, but it's never been too bad.

14. What is the best ? That's tough. I have quite a few that I would consider to be really great gifts. My brother built me a 3 story victorian doll house for me when I was 5 (my mom payed for it and did the interiors) and he was 14. Brendan built me a ballet bar one year, and that is still definitely one of the best gifts ever.

15. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? And why did it happen? I don't remember how old I was really. Maybe around 10? A friend of mine told me that she woke up one Christmas night and saw her mom putting the presents under the tree, so that's how I found out.

16. Are you a minimalist holiday decorator or a scary â€œNation Lampoonâ€ one, or somewhere in between? I'm somewhere inbetween. We've got a little tree for the apartment and some decorations to put out, and last year we even made a fake fireplace (complete with fire) out of construction paper just so we would have a spot to hang me, my roommates, and our kitties stockings!

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition?Setting up the tree and decorations/planning new year's eve

4. What really puts you in a festive mood?wrapping presents with a nice glass of wine and some celtic Xmas music.

1. Do you believe in God? (just seeing if your awake, donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t have to answer if you donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want to!...) Difficult one - I believe there is some higher power/force but not necessarily as it is traditionally portrayed

2. What is your favorite holiday and why?Christmas - it's a wonderful family time

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Hubby and daughter making mince pies on Christmas Eve. It seems like Christmas has really started then. It's such a happy time.

4. What really puts you in a festive mood?What doesn't? Christmas Carols, fairy lights, cold dark nights with Christmas trees in the window. I love Christmas

5. What is your favorite holiday memory? I don't really have one specific favourite memory. It's really a "feeling" spending Christmas with hubby and the kids.

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories?Nope.

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume?Nope - don't dress up for Halloween.

8. What is the weirdest costume you ever saw? Weirdest night had to be the Halloween Party night at Disneyland Paris. So many were wandering around in outlandish costumes - it was spooky as all the lights were really, really low.

10. Did you do â€œtricksâ€ on houses when you were a kid? We didn't have trick or treating here when I was a kid.

11. Do you have any special Thanksgiving traditions?We don't have Thanksgiving.

14. What is the best ?I love any present that someone is thoughtful enough to choose. My best present ever has to be Lily

15. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa? And why did it happen?I hung on as long as I could - the feeling that he didn't really come flying across the rooftops dawned on me gradually I think.

5. What is your favorite holiday memory? The "throwed" rolls at one Thanksgiving dinner. I was at one end of the table and the person at the other asked for a roll and I sent it airmail because everyone in between was too busy to pass it.

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories? Yeah, my maternal step-grandmother became ill while we were dining with the paternal side one Thanksgiving. She was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume? Yes. Can't remember any real fav, though. Mine were all homemade. Maybe the year I went as a princess and mom and sis put a hula hoop inthe hem of this old dress to make it stand out. I did have masks that were bought.

8. What is the weirdest costume you ever saw? In high school 2 guys wore full scuba gear.

9.. Does your neighborhood have many trick or treaters? Not any more. It's on a highway that is way busier than when I was a kid.

2. What is your favorite holiday and why? I love them all! Christmas is the favorite though. I have a lot of traditions that I can't live without.

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Lasagna on Christmas Eve. Something my Aunt started and I've never gone a single Christmas without it.

and Christmas carols. Really, just the displays in the stores is enough to get me in the holiday mood no matter what holiday it is.

5. What is your favorite holiday memory? The first Christmas my hubby and I spent together when we were dating. He always does his best to make sure I feel extra-special and loved.

6. Do you have any holiday *bad* memories? Some... as the youngest, my sister always loved to wait until the family was around and then embarrass me to pieces.

7. Do you dress up for Halloween? What was your best costume? Yep! Last year four of us in the office came as 50's bobby-soxers. This year will be the best though, we're all doing Wizard of Oz characters and I get to be Dorothy!!
