hello. i got a kitten a few days ago (box of them was abandoned, took one off a friends hands). hes had his shots and all that. hes very playful and adorable, like a normal kitten.

my problem is that he sneezes, alot. its not very cold in here, but it is kind of dusty. today i noticed he had a small amount of stuff coming out of his eyes and nostrils. should i be worried?

another then the sneezes and the discharge, hes been acting normally.

Hi Wolfgang ,
you need to take this cute kitten right away to the vet , it could have all kinds of things going on with it . For sure he needs his shots and dewormer ...
Also you want to be on the save side with this boy to make sure he is ok . Good luck for him and you

Colds are common with kittens. See a vet because secondary infections can result.
An antibiotic might be needed to prevent eye and lung infection.

Last time my kitten sneezed like that she had a Repertory inpection. She was on meds for two weeks. So yeah, a vet asap.

Hope you've been able to take your sweet new baby to the vet.

You said he has had his shots and all that? Did he go to the vet, and then afterward get sick? Kittens are at risk of airborne illnesses while at the vet, because their immune system (especially abandoned kittens) are compromised and they are stressed and overwhelmed. It is entirely possible, if you did take him to the vet that this is where he got sick. So now you need to call the vet and tell them the symptoms and see what they recommend. Depending on how old he is, that will be the determining factor of what they decide to do.

If you do have to take him back to the vet- please keep a cover over his carrier to help protect him a little bit from everything he encounters there-

Good luck!

well, i took him to the vet and the vet said he just had a cold, and that he didn't want to give him anything because he's still so small (2 months old). he's not getting the stuff in his eyes and nose anymore, and he sneezes less so i think he's getting better.
