My 5 month old buddy Julian is starting to get his permanent upper canines. But, they are coming in from the front of the baby canines?

Is it normal for the baby teeth to still be in place when the tips of the permanent teeth are coming through. Im assuming the new teeth will push out the old ones, but I dont know for a fact.

On related note, my 2 year old cats breath smells very bad. Gums are NOT red or inflammated, they are just pink and grayish which I guess is normal since he is a black cat. Could it be serious? Will Brushing his teeth remove the odor?

i don't know about brushing, but my 1st cat had to have some teeth removed due to decay, & the only symptom she had was foul breath. everything looked fine, & she was eating ok. probably should take him to a vet to be sure, especially if the brushing doesn't do any good.

When my Nico lost his baby teeth, I could see the bigger teeth coming in over them. However, this all took place within a couple of days. If the big canines continue to grow in w/o the loss of the baby teeth, I might consider getting your kitty checked out.

Ill try to brush and take to vet if still smells. I checked his teeth and the baby ones are sorta loose, so i guess everything ok and hopefully they will drop soon.
