tonight will be the first night that i have spent on my own and i mean in my entire life

Jeff has to pick up out other car in the city and it's filled with stuff so there will hardly be enough room for him, he wants to do it up and sell it so we can put the money in our house deposit account.

i know most people have spent at least one night by themselves at the age of 25 but i haven't and i know it's kind of silly but i feel a tiny bit nervous

i think i'll sleep on the futon after watching a few movies, maybe i'll fall asleep quicker that way...

i feel so silly lol but iv'e never done this before...i do have bonnie, pandy and anassa so i guess i'm not really alone

Don't feel silly. I'm 34 and have only done it a handful of times, if you don't count when my husband was working nights. It just so happens I've never lived alone.

Oh, what I wouldn't give for a night by myself right about now. Enjoy it—you can do whatever you want. Totally relax.

i guess i never thought of it that way, i was too busy thinking how much i'd miss jeff but i don't have to cook him dinner, bring him a drink or anything, and i can eat whatever i want....plus watch whatever i want...hmmm, this is sounding okay

i might crack open a bottle of wine too, oh and some catnip for the kits

Hey Felicia,

My friend is 29 this year, she has been married for 4 years and still can't be alone in the flat when her husband is out working at night... She has to go to her parents house down the road....
So I really wouldn't worry, I expect it's quite common and normal to be afraid, especially if you have not been alone before.

Before I bought my flat where I live alone now, I was renting a flat with a friend and she used to stay away at her boyfriends a lot. I used to get so scared at being alone that I also started going to my parents at night time. I eventually got used to being alone and when I bought this place, my sister offered to stay with me the first night but I turned her down and said, No, I have to live here alone for however long so it's best to get the first night over with. I woke up only 2 times that first night and then after that, I have never been scared here

I hope you are okay

I thought I'd be scared on my own, but to be honest I feel safer and more secure in my own home than I did when I was still living with my Dad.

Being on your own is great - you can get a pizza and a tub of Hagan Daaz, lay in the bath with your ice cream and your music on loud, followed by curling up in bed with a good book, and not having to worry about stretching out or someone else snoring!!

You're going to do SO GREAT Fran, I promise
Personally, I think everyone should live alone at least once before they are married...gives you a different perspective on life and you always know that you can make it on your own no matter what. Anyway, sorry for the thread hijack.

How did your night go Fe?

My husband is a truck driver, nights alone are a big part of my life! I see it as time to watch what I WANT on TV, and fix things he doesn't like for dinner! It gets hard sometimes, but I get by. You'll be fine, just be thankful he's not a truck driver. I haven't seen my hubby since Sunday morning around 5am, and it will probably be another 3-5 days yet, before I see him again.

OOOOOOOH I LOOOOOOOOVE BEING HOME ALONE!!!!!!! Here's what I do:

~Turn the music up as loud as it will go and have a blast singing at the top of my lungs while sock dancing!
~Take a nice hot relaxing bath with the door wide open and the music still going (sometimes Jack Daniels will lay by the tub with me)
~Spend many hours on the computer until I get bored with it.
~Watch movies until I get bored with it

and at 6 am I go to bed!!

I LOVE time to myself in the house. When hubby first spent a night away on business I was really nervous. But now I really enjoy that time. Like others have said, if I was going to spend the night on my own or just with daughter, we might as well make a girly time of it.

I hope that your night went well and got to all those things you really enjoy.
