Does that mean that fur from a rabbit is fine given that people do consume rabbit meat. Also does this mean that if the body of the mink is used as food, such as animal feed, usage of the skin is proper?
NO, NO and NO!!Furthermore, people can live quite well without meat, thus the food usage of the animal is not essential for living.
I've been a strict vegetarian for 21-years!! No meat, no fowl, no fish!! If it had a mother, I don't eat it!! I am certainly not starving because of my life-long decision & committment on not eating animals. I certainly wouldn't kill one of my fuzzy babies if I was hungry and I certainly wouldn't parade around wearing their fur!! Life is life!! Speciasm is wide-spread. Somehow, it is acceptable to kill a cow or a crocodile (for that matter) for food and or skin...but is is not acceptable to kill a cat or dog for the same.It seems that the only position that is free from conflict is that of the vegan who does not consume any animal products and also as a result choose not to wear any clothing from animals.
I am free from conflict
I never push my philosophy on anyone. My family consumes meat, my cats surely consume meat/fish/chicken and I wouldn't leave someone's home if they served any of the above. Everyone has a personal "line" that they can live with comfortably. If asked...I will most definitely engage in conversational battle as to animal rights, testing, fur, etc.
All I can say...is I know I sleep very well at night knowing how many animals I have saved in the last 21-years simply because I have chosen not to wear them, eat them, purchase products containing them and/or tested on them.
