moving day for kitties

We have been moving this week, and it has been a challenge to keep kitties safely corralled and out from under foot. We usually don't bother to close Pearl up, because she will not run out the door. S/o was looking for her before taking a load to the new house, and she was nowhere to be found. He searched everywhere, even crawling under the house several times. He finally called me, on the edge of hysteria, and told me to come straight home from work, Pearl was missing, and he had left the hole from the dryer vent open. I told him to look in a little used kitchen cabinet, and sure enough, there she was. She will not make a sound, you just have to find her. She cried when I put her in the car, but since it was only a five minute ride, none of them got really worked up. I laid down to watch tv late last night, and felt a little tug on my sleeve. I turned around, and there was Pearl, giving me a full on kitty love. She has never done that. She kneaded and purred and demanded petting until I went to sleep. She crawled under the covers, snuggled down, and last time I checked, she was still there. She seems to be a very happy kitty! I have noticed lately, that when I pick her up, she curls up like a tiny kitten in it's mother's mouth. It is so sweet. The other little heathens, Pepper and Scooter are having a ball exploring the new house. Now if we can just get done today, I will be soooo happy. I am exhausted!

Aw, Pearl just never ceases to amaze me. She's such a little doll.

I'm glad the move has gone smoothly so far, and that the kitties are adjusting so well.
