Does anyone use this on their cat's food? I'm just wondering if it would be a good thing to give my cats or just a waste of money. Below is some information on it and the ingredients. What do you think?

In nature, animals consume foods that are whole, raw and fresh, while domestic animals generally have a diet of processed foods only. The Missing Link was developed to target the nutritional gap between what nature provides and what is available in commercial foods. Formulated with all natural, human edible-quality whole foods and food concentrates, The Missing Link reintroduces unprocessed, nutrient-rich foods into your animal's diet.

For years, veterinarians and pet owners have added The Missing Link Feline Formula to commercial foods to promote:

General Health & Well-Being
Better Digestion
Healthy Skin & Coat
Increased Energy
Quicker Recovery After Surgery or Injury
Less Shedding
Reduced Allergies
Less Scratching & Itching
Reduced Odor
Less Joint Stiffness and Pain
Fewer Hairballs

Ingredients:
Flax Seed, Blackstrap Molasses, Rice Bran, Primary Dried Yeast, Freeze Dried Liver, Sunflower Seed, Dehydrated Alfalfa, Dried Carrot, Freeze Dried Bone, Dried Fish Meal, Freeze Dried Oyster, Sprouted Green Barley, Dried Kelp, Lecithin, Garlic and Yucca Schidigera Extract.

Personally, I don't think you should give your cat anything until you've spoken with your vet about it. Most of us here are not qualified to be making recommendations such as this. I'd ask my vet if I were you.

Having said that, Pat and Alix are very knowledgeable and will likely be along soon and can give you a better answer.

I agree about checking with your vet first. If you are feeding a well balanced diet, and do not have a specific reason for supplementing, I would not do so.

That said, I personally will not feed nor recomend any food/supplement or treat that contains garlic (if you wish, I have a couple of links I can give you that have the information I used to make my decision), nor do I approve of a supplement where the second most prevalent ingredient is a sugar (blackstrap molasses). There are other ingredients that can be use to give the benefits that come from molasses.

I know this is a well regarded supplement by many, but I would not use it (even if my vet suggested it!
