hunting bambi....

i apologise if this has already been brought up but i recently heard about a site called hunting bambi, they are bringing videos out where men hunt nude women with paintball guns.

anyway, there's a huge uproar about it because people think it's promoting violence against women but as far as i see it, violent men don't need stuff like this to make them violent because they already are and non-violent men are hardly going to turn into wife beaters over a site and some videos, there are already hundreds of sites, books, videos etc promoting sado machoism, bdsm, the gorean lifestyle and plenty of others that also promote violence.

the people doing this, both the men and women, are consenting adults who go into it knowing full well what it's about so why do people feel the need to make such a fuss about it?

at the moment i'm not sure what i think about it, i only found out about it because my husband sent me the link as a joke....what does everyone else think?

not sure if i can post the link, it's not pornographic but does contain some nudity.

I think it is dumb. I don't think it will cause men to be violent towards women.

i don't think so either, i feel that if you don't like something...then don't watch it

Exactly.

I think it is rediculous, tacky, and totally tasteless. Degrading to women? ABSOLUTELY. Abhorable? ABSOLUTELY. Senseless violence? ABSOLUTELY.

Does it necessarily promote violence against women? The jury's still out on that one.

Most of the time (probably about 90%), ideas promoting violence against women starts in the home of origin. Men who grow up to be batterers more than likely witnessed their father (or father figure) abusing their mother (or mother figure) and learned from a very early age that that behavior was appropriate.

Was this not like "news" several years back? The organisers claim it is real but everyone in the video are actors, even the customers who claimed to have paid money to take part. The interesting bit to this story is that of all the major cable networks, only FOXnews presented it as a factual report or at the very least their report was very sensational.

Well I've never heard of this, it sounds hokey to me. Paintballs HURT! If you're not padded, man it can leave bruises!!!

Seems someone is bored and just sick-minded... Not sure why any woman would degrade herself enough to allow a guy to shoot her with a paintball as she's running around naked. Probably the same type of woman who acts in pornos or something.

Just sounds sick to me!

I know first hand that those paintballs hurt like heck. When I was in the military, we used to go out to the forests and have paintball fights. One time sneaking one someone I got shot in the mouth... ouch... those things suck. What was bad was I was hit with a red apintball, so looking down in to the snow it look like I was bleeding horribly. Thankfully I wasn't.

As fo this thing, I don't think it promotes violence toward women. Honestly, there's a ton more out there that worse then this thing. Yes it is tacky and horrible though. But I don't think it would promote it.

Why does she have to be naked? It wouldn't be as fun if she had clothes on?

My brothers use to play paintball and they'd come back with huge bruises all over--and they wore protection!

I wouldn't mind being "hunted" if it was an equal opportunity hunt; if we were taking turns. I bet it'd be fun & exciting! I don't want anything to do with paintball guns though--maybe airsoft guns.

I'm sorry, but that really made me laugh

I just did a search for this and found the website. I think this quote pretty much sums up their attitudes:

This would be a great way to "Domesticate" your Bambi. Every time she's about to open her big trap and start to ***** at you about the dumbest things, she'll remember that bare-ass sting of a paintball.

It's a joke, right?

Perhaps I've just read too much true crime books, and know too much about sexual predators. I know that there was a serial killer in Alaska who did exactly this, only it was with unwilling participants and real hunting rifles. You don't think this plays right into the sexually violent fantasies of budding sexual predators? You think this isn't playing into their own demented view of women, that they would like to play these types of "games" with them?

Granted, this is a very small portion of the population who would see these videos and get off on them like this, but it is also the most dangerous portion of the population. This site is just plain sick and wrong!

It ended up being just a big hoax. It was a guy here in Las Vegas. Believe me it was a scam and he got in trouble. I don't remember any other particulars about it though, sorry.

even with clothes on it would hurt! not that i know, iv'e never been hit with a paintball but i'm guessing it's not good.

my husband has tried to convice me to go paintballing with him, the pg version where you have an obstical course and protective clothing but i'm a bit frightened of it.

maybe one day

This kind of reminds me of "The Man Show". What is with all of the men (and its ALL MEN) in the audience drinking beer while women (called "Juggies") prance around in schoolgirl outfits and don't speak? Just weird.
They would likely endorse something like this.

i think you right, this would be just the type of thing they would like

there are actually some women (other than juggies) in the audience, they seem to enjoy the show but the men far outnumber the women.

i never even noticed the juggies don't speak you can tell i pay a lot of attention to that show

my husband used to like it but he's gotten sick of it...he's like 'oh, girls jumping on trampolines again, what a surprise' and then switches to the descovery channel to watch American chopper.

it actually is a boring show, the question section for example, they never have serious questions and the show is always generally the same.
