I have posted in your other thread - but I will post here as well. I just know that Mikko brought Pansy your way, and what a gorgeous girl she most certainly is.

CONGRATULATIONS

Thank you all for your kind words. I am one happy kitty mama, boy.

Though waking me up at 6am to play fetch...it's darling, tiring but darling. Brings me the mouse, insists that I throw it. Brings it back. An hour of it, I've actually never encountered a cat who did this before. I am so in love.

And our family might be growing. There's a 6 week old kitten who's about to be kicked out on his/her ear, by a family member of someone I work with. Now tell me I'm wrong, but isn't 6 weeks way too young? Growing up having a cat that pumped out 2 litters a year for 13 years (my father absolutely refused to have her spayed, though we did live in a farm community and she pretty much populated the barns- great mousers but taught me the absolute necessity of spaying and neutering), those kitties at 6 weeks weren't weaned and just starting on solid food. =/

So that this little kitty, at 6 weeks, is supposedly "all ready to be on his own" just turns my tummy. I talked to her briefly, asked her questions about him. (she thinks he's male but at 6 weeks I know she can't be absolutely dead sure) When I asked her what food he was on, she said she wasn't sure, some generic crunchy food. Said he'd be out hunting mice in a few days so she didn't feel he needed anything else.
This woman had over 14 kittens. 2 of her unspayed females had kittens.
So our little family might be getting bigger today or this weekend, in rescuing this little guy from being pushed outside or dropped at the city pound.
Pansy will adore him. Likely bring HIM to me at 6am and try to play fetch with him.

What a beautiful cat! Now is she still considered black?!? In the pics, she looks almost fox-colored! Whatever it is called, she is quite a beauty. And I'm glad you are getting along so well.

pansy is pretty much fox colored now, has to be the richest color i've seen on a cat. she's warming up to me, and when my boyfriend, father or my recently lost baby, decided yesterday that he didn't wanna see me anymore, she was my rescue.
she curled up and slept with me while i cried all through the night, licking away my tears, cooing at me. she hasn't really come that near me yet, and it did my heart good that she was trying to comfort me. she climbed under the covers and snuggled with me til i eventually fell asleep.

the kitten comes tomorrow. i'm paying the woman's gas money to bring him to me, as i don't drive at all and i can't just come sweep him away. she said he's pretty timid, but then he's been in a house with 14 kittens, 4 children and god knows how many adult cats. poor lil tyke, i can't wait to bring him home.

still hoping that pansy isn't territorial when i get him home. tonight i'm gonna rub her with a towel, see if she won't sleep with it, then carry the tyke around tomorrow (she's bringing him to my work) in it. so he smells like her when i get him home.

i so need this little kitty right now. i'm so tired of losing things i love this summer.
i don't have a name for him though. hoping something comes to me when i see him, or he "tells" me what it is.

Well, Pansy is certainly beautiful, and it sounds like she is a little love, too. Sorry about the break-up, that certainly is painful!

Read the sticky's about introducing a new kitten. I think since Pansy grew up and lived in a multi-cat household, she will accept the newbie. But you will hurry the process by following the suggestions.

My foster Sugartoes was in a bedroom for over 2 months, where the cats could smell her under the door. Now she has been with them for a few weeks. Today I saw her playing slapsies with each other cat!! Where they swipe at each other as if fighting, but there is no physical contact. But they have ears back, and eyes squinting. Definitely now love! But she and Garfield are mostly ok, they shared a cricket last night. If only Festie would accept her...but my Festie doesn't like new cats!

I am so very very sorry to hear about the BF issues. You most certainly have been through alot lately and I can only imagine this was the last thing you expected.
How wonderful though that Pansy tried to comfort you - bless her little heart
seems to me that things are going to work out just fine in that department.

the new kitten would have arrived by now and I am hoping that things are going okay in that department as well - i will of course check in again later for updates (unless its elsewhere)

The kitten comes today.
The woman is dropping her off at my work around noon. So I'm making him a little box with a fluffy towel that pansy's been sleeping on, and some litter (also bringing food and water), and he'll be hanging out with me at the front desk today.

Now if only this man would stop being an idiot...I'm trying really hard to be excited and distracted with the kitten, and I *am* excited about him. Just a breaking heart is kinda in the way right now.

I am FURIOUS!
this woman calls me today, around the time she's supposed to be here dropping the kitten off, and says oh, something came up, i won't be able to come down there til next week sometime. and someone's here who wants the kitten, so....

jesus christ. fine. give it to someone else.
i'm SO pissed off. i really needed that boy today.
if my paycheck clears today, i think i'm going to the humane society then.

god damnit.
