My kitten is about 11 weeks we have had him since the beginning of augest. I was laying next to him while he was sleeping and he woke up and was kneeding with his paws then he put his mouth to the blanket and make nosies that sounded like he was suckling. i was just wondering if this is normal, and if not what i should do to stop him from doing it.

It's normal. Mine will suckle on a sweater I have. I don't think you really need to discourage it. It's a natural thing for them. They haven't hurt anything when mine have done it. Some say it's because they were taken from thier mothers before being ready. It's kind of like thumb sucking for kids, they usually grow out of it, but some don't and there is nothing wrong with it.

Like MoochNNoodles said, it's purrfectly normal. Your babykitty thinks of you as her meowmy and she feels safe and comfortable in your presence. I get at least one kneady, purry session each day. It's adorable.
