Would he attack me?

My Maggie can be a drama queen. For example when I clip her claws she tends to meow like I'm killing her. Well Jordan becomes concerned when she does this. Last night he kept coming up to me & giving me looks like "What are you doing to her?" I'd show her to him so he could see she was not hurt, he'd lick her head & walk away. However, as soon as she starts screaming again he comes running. At one point last night his pupils were dialated & he had his I'm about to attack look. I've got a couple questions. Is it common for a male cat to have a protective response to another cat? Second, could he attack me thinking he was protecting her?

I don't know if your cat would attack or not. Once my brother was medicating one of his cats. During the process Sandy bit my brother's hand. When my brother yelled, his other cat, Oscar (RIP Oscar), came running and attacked Sandy!

That is so cute in a "poor sandy" kinda way

Lovey bats Rocky's head with a quick swipe when I tell him to stop meowing for food and he doesn't...Kinda like "Mum said SHUT Up, little brother!!!"
But then he also bats Rocky's head when Rocky is too close to his chicken..

Maybe put Jordan in the bedroom while you clip?

lol My brother's cat attacked him once when he was play-punching me when we were kids. He wasn't even actually touching me, and out of nowhere she ran up and just started going pyscho on his leg.
