Could you check out my message board, and tell me what you think of the design: background, Banner ect ect. You won't be able to see any of the forum's themselves, unless you join, but I just want to know if you think it looks good or if I could make it look better. Of course, you're welcome to join, but I wouldn't ask you to do so. I just want to know if you think it looks OK. Here's the address:

Wow, looks like you have quite a few like-minded people participating in your forum!

I like the look a lot. What's the significance in the puzzle pieces on the background?

There's no real significance to the puzzle background. I was just creating backgrounds, and I liked the way this one tiled.

At the kitty's beck and call
Hope - that looks great
. The graphics look good and the pink, white and blue work really well. Do you have a choice of the font to use on the text for the message boards as something like Arial might work a little better as the current one (Times Roman?) has tails and the small font and the tails on the characters tend to run together a little - at least on my laptop. I hope you didn't mind me mentioning it.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. I create everything myself, not only on the message board, but also on my webpage. Sometimes, I am not objective about my own work, that's why I like to other's opinions.

Beth, I agree the font is too small. I am going to have to contact Pro Borads, that host my Message Board, and see if there is a way to adjust the font. I used to have my board on EZ board, and I'm still not all that used to Pro Boards.

I love the background, Hope but I had to exit it quickly. I really hate the Times New Roman font, and can't concentrate when it's on a page!

I was able to go in and change the font. I'd like your opinions, if it looks better now. Thanks

Brilliant job Hope
looks really good.

As a professional web application developer I am very impressed
.

I didn't see what the fonts looked like before, but I would say they now fit in well. The pink and white font colours look good and are easy to read, but the yellow (with the black border, I think?) is a little bit blurry. I would go for a solid single colour. The only other thing is the new topic / reply buttons - they seem a bit out of "character" from the rest of the page.

Once again excellent job!

There shouldn't be any yellow with black border things, unless it's the ads that Pro Boards include on the page, and that I have no control of, because those belong to Pro Board. I am still working on different designs for the buttons, as I go along.

I'd really love to get your opinion of my actual website, because I'm a self taught web designer, and would love to go into the field.

Sure, I have a look at it a bit later (at work at the moment) and get back to you. Nothing wrong with being self-taught! I started off as a VB6 programmer and one day my boss came in with 'web design for dummies' book and told me we were branching into web applications... that was 5 years ago... so i guess you could say i'm self-taught web designer as well
