Yuck! Billy's got poop stuck in his butt! That's the second poop incident this week!
A couple of days ago he had it stuck to his tail, and being a scaredy-cat anyways, he freaked out, wouldn't walk properly, and crab-walked all over the apartment before we figured out what was wrong and removed it. Is it possible he's constipated or something? Should I do anything about the poop in his butt or let him take care of it? I tried to remove it, but its pretty hard and stuck in there. Anyone else have this happen before?

It is very possible that he is constipated. If you can gently remove the poop, perhaps by giving him a luke-warm butt bath, he'll feel better. You can try adding plain canned pumpkin to his food. It adds fiber and moisture and can help with constipation.

I'm not bragging, but I have a lot of bottom problem experience.
My cat can't clean his back half because of a spine problem and can't always tell that poop is still coming out...so it tends to get stuck to him or somewhere near the litterbox. If the poop is to hard to easily remove then give him a warmish butt bath and slowly rub it out. I know this sound gross, but you don't just want to yank it out if it's stuck and you don't want to just leave it there if he's rubbing it all over the house. I would give it a few more days before changing his diet if this has only happened once before. Anything he picked up and ate (like a bug) can temp. effect his poop.

Yeah, I'm gonna try the pumpkin. I think, after some reading, that it might because I stopped giving them wet food as often, so I'm going to go back to every night and see if he still has poopy problems.
Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

My kitty has had a small dangler (I know, ick!) for the last 2 weeks. It was somehow miraculously stuck to its butt, not the fur around the tail. I would periodically try to brush it off with a wet napkin, but it just wouldn't come off. And if I tried to tug it off gently, her sphincter would distend and she would yowl in pain.

After searching the net I found this post, and it worked like a charm. I was really only able to dip my kitty in the water for a few seconds at a time, but after a minute or so, I was able to brush the poop nugget off easily.

Only bad thing is that I have 10 fresh, deep scratches in me.
