Hi Jesa, I'm home now and have caught up on the last couple of messages. Just to clarify, when I told you the Bay's Animal Board had very experienced people there and you could post to get their help, that didn't mean that you should post to request donations because they won't do it. Rather, I meant you should ask them for a list of resources that can help you...there are very experienced Rescuers/vets/vet techs that post there (not that they don't post here too...but cross-posting will allow you to get the most responses).

Having said that, because they are so experienced, they also would have checked out your auction and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they had not only reported your thread, but your auction as well. The Bay has very strict guidelines about charity auctions and the only way YOU can comply (since you're not a registered charity) is to offer something tangible to every single buyer - even if it's just a picture of Azeza, but you cannot just take donations. The moderators will pull your Discussion Boards posts a lot faster than they will the auctions, that's why I say don't be surprised if it doesn't happen...unless you modify it before they review it.

The above is just FYI.....now let me go get the other links for you and post them.

Hi Jesa, I'm very sorry that your auction was pulled. Now that you know how to do it "correctly" (ie: offering a tangible item to send to each winner), you "may" want to consider it again. Unfortunately, you cannot send things via email (such as an update letter), that doesn't qualify because it isn't tangible.

If you DO do it again, make sure to include the information to the veterinarian's office so they can independently verify. DO NOT include a link to a google search, just tell anybody that they can google search for the contact info to verify (of course providing it in the auction info).

You MAY still want to try the boards, they have great ideas for $$ raisers, as well as contact sources.

Before I pull out all the stops here...I really do have a couple of serious questions for you. I honestly mean no disrespect, but it will help me to help Azeza better with your answers..and this is the point of this. You don't have to answer, but I do ask that you step back and consider each of these questions if you do answer....

1) In your OP, you comment that you live in the dangerous part of our city. From that I will "assume" the North End. Have you considered that most animals in this sector have not had regular vet care and therefore immunizations/vaccinations? Although not as many pets in that area (since they can't afford it), it also means that "per capita" there will be more pets infected in that area if it is an economically depressed area. Are you willing to go through all this just to find out Azeza has FIV or FeLV? They are BRUTAL diseases.

2) As a student (and a nursing one at that-my mom is a nurse!!) I applaud your effort and fully recognize the strains that are placed on Cdn students, both financially and time-wise. This darling will need PREMIUM food to gain her weight back, which will include veterinary checkups. On top of annual checkups and vaccinations as required. With a roommate, I wouldn't worry so much that your kitty will be lonely, but that is a consideration as well.

3) This cat is an outdoor cat. Do you have experience re-homing an abandoned/stray cat to becoming an "indoor only" kitty? I only ask because I have done it, but it was EXTREMELY hard - it took almost 2 years, and MANY times I thought I would pull my hair out for the constant crying at the door. It can be done, but it does take way more patience than you can imagine LOL. I only ask this question because you need to realize that if you are successful in getting vet treatment for Azeza, you are the only one that knows your personality and you need to understand that the "cries" from being kept indoors will most likely be at night when cats are most active which may not fit your schedule.

4) Lastly, I am just going to be blunt honest here and I sincerely don't mean to hurt your feelings, I'm just trying to show you the options IF you're successful with a $$ compaign to save Azeza (which I most certainly hope you are!!!). Once you have re-evaluated the above, you may decide that your first issue is to fix her and then re-home her to someone who can afford the ongoing upkeep/time etc necessary for animals....if that's the case, there are VERY (and I mean VERY) few people who will adopt a cat without the standardized disease tests - which will cost $$ anyways.

This is the truth as bluntly, but as nicely, as I can tell you. I don't know you're experience with cats (or other animals), but I can tell you care about her and that is why I am trying to give you as much information as I can. Some of it you may already know based on your experience...some of it you may not.

\tJesa: When I had dropped Aziza at the humane society they gave her those vaccinations. I have dropped off several cats to the humane society as this area is usually packed with strays. I have never and I mean never been so protective, and wanting to help a cat. There was something special about her and I just couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t say no. Personally Ya! I am willing to do everything I can to help her. She is a gently, caring, loving soul who deserves a chance just like the rest. Its not her fault that her previous owner was a jack ass and left her half size on the street to fend for herself. I willing to do whatever I can for Aziza.

JESA:As far as food my roommate has 3 cats and feeding them natural choice which is the best brand I know of. So I havent yet had to buy food or litter….or toys for that matter.

\tJESA: When I went outside for the first time to go get her I had to climb over a locked fence over piles of would I made a sound and she came running. She was amazingly affectionate rubbing my face and trying to get up. I picked her up and and she wouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t stop purring. Aziza never meows, never cries, and I feel as though she is very content where she is. If she does begin crying we will deal with that when the time comes….giving her up wont be an option. I have had no problems with Aziza shes a great litter box user, great cleaner, and a great greater as soon as she can see weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re awake, she jumps up on the bed near my head and purrs away.

JESA:I need help now I have one more year of nursing then Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ll be financially ready to afford my kitty family. She will be fixed but cant right now because she is unable to go under anesthesia, because she is too high of a risk. As far as her home this is her home. A checkup is much easier to do that a 1430 vet bill. She will get the care she needs one way or another. I mean if it wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t for me and my roommate she would have been euthanized 2 ½ weeks ago.

Jesa, thank you so much for posting again. Aziza sounds like a truly remarkable kitty who found a remarkable angel to look after her. I will do everything I possibly can to help you.

Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason why 1 cat will touch our hearts and our lives like they do. But when they do, there is simply no turning back and I understand and commend you for doing all you can for her. I know very well myself how that is...you know that other board? Look for a thread entitled "Two Kittens Looking for a Home", it's on page 1 or 2...they called out to me all the way from Alabama and have now been living with us since June 18th.

I've updated the other post with some suggestions that might help you...can you take a look when you have some time?

Jesa, I did not mean to sound harsh - I often post in a hurry and sometimes am too blunt, sigh!! Sorry!! I did want to mention imom but am sorry to hear they are not taking apps. There is another groups whose name escpes me. Have you thought of trying to raise money amg friends and relatives? Have a party or some kind of event and everyone who comes brings $$ for the kitty. A car wash? A bake sale? A booth at a mall or a farmer's market that will let you give away say a story about her (write one with her pict - use your imagination and computer skills)? I hope you find a way!! Good luck!!!
