As I posted in the health/nutrition forum... one of my boys (Drew) is sick and vomiting a lot. He was taken to a cat only clinic this morning. They will be examining him and I'm supposed to call them by 2:30 today if I haven't heard from them. I'm worried to death. I've been on the verge of tears since I dropped him off at 8:30 this morning.

I prayed the hardest I have ever prayed last night for him. He's such a sweet and senisitive boy, and I just don't know what I'd do without him. I love him to death.

Please send him some good thoughts. We'll take all the positive thoughts and vibes we can get.

(His two brothers know something is up, because they keep running around looking for him and letting out little "mews" trying to find him.. it's breaking my heart.)

The vet just called. My poor poor baby. They can't even examine him because he's so aggitated. He is hissing, growling, spitting, and lunging at them. They had to call and ask for permission to sedate him so they could examine him. That is so unlike him. I am SO FREAKED OUT RIGHT NOW. I can't stop crying.

Awww, I am so sorry Cassie, but once he has the sedative maybe he will feel better, calmer at least and then they can find out what's wrong. I am hoping that he just ate something that didn't agree with him and then got stressed because a bunch of people are trying to poke and prod him when he isn't feeling good. More prayers on the way, hang in there.

Oh, Drew, please feel better soon. Poor little guy, he is just scared. They will sedate him and then figure things out. Please keep us posted when you know anything!

The vet just called. Drew is dehydrated. They're giving him subcutenous fluids. They're gonna draw blood, do an organ profile (make sure they're functioning properly), check his electrolytes, and do a urinalysis. The doctor is quite concerned that he isn't holding any fluid down and said that it could be a number of things.

I explained that I have absolutely NO house plants (because I have a boy (jake) with a sensitive tummy and he likes eating plants), and that I never let my cats outside. He said he could've eaten a spider *or* he could have some other organ issues like CRF. He was very nice.

They want to keep him at least ONE night, but he might have to stay as long as 4 or 5 nights. It can cost up to $150 per night (if he has to have the fluids every day as a result of refusing to eat). I told him that money is NOT an object and that I want him healthy.

I would sell every thing I own if it means getting him healthy.

Cassie, my prayers are with Drew. The poor kitty is probably more comfortable now that he's sedated. Please let us know how he's doing.
