Now, I know cats like to eat grass but this is going a bit far........

Yesterday, I was sat with a big bowl of salad. Kiki was sniffing at it so I gave her a piece of lettuce, which she ate. Then I have her some chives and she ate that too. Then tomato, and then, corriander ! she ate loads !

The only thing she wouldnt' touch was red coloured lettuce.

Wierd !

I've heard of some cats enjoying their greens. Not mine though. Once a carrot fell on the floor and the cats gave it a sniff and then arched their backs at it.

I brought some basil in from the garden and Oliver was interested. Maybe he thought it was from his catnip plant. He ran over to sniff it, but then wrinkled his nose, squinted his eyes, and pulled away - like Ewwww.
He does enjoy fresh spinach and lettuce though.

Neither of my cats are veggies...but Napoleon likes pizza, sushi and chinese food -- he HOVERS over the egg rolls. We don't let him eat it though...he does try to sneak pieces of cheese off the pizza though, when he thinks we're not looking

Yeah, those tuxedo cats are great!

BTW, I probably don't need to remind anyone of this, but just in case, make sure all veggies are washed well. I read about a lady who fed her birds lettuce and even gave it a quick rinse first. The lettuce was aparently sprayed with a pesticide and she didn't get it all off. Her birds were poisioned.

Chives should not be given to cats! They are in the same family as garlic and onions, and they can cause hemolytic anemia. Also, beware of the green parts of the tomatoes, as they contain a toxin that can be fatal if ingested in large doses.
