My sweet little cat I have had for about 6 years, sheds so badly that I cannot even begin to describe how she looks. I've had her to two different
vets and they just say some cat do shed more than others, however she sheds big hunks and bunches of loose hair. We really love her but cannot even put her in our laps. Any suggestions?

What are you feeding her? I'd go with something really high quality like Nutro Complete Care. Probably the Indoor formula in her case. The long periods of light and higher temps in the house can cause cats to shed more. Also, is there anything that could be stressing her out? When my cats are stressed (like when we go to the vet's office, but maybe she's upset about a dog or something like that?) the hair just starts falling out. Gizmo's hair was falling out as I was putting her in the cat carrier last time we went to the vet, and she doesn't shed that much normally.

Perhaps you can give us a bit more detail. Is she simply shedding a great deal (as many indoor cats do) or does she actually have hairless patches of skin visible?

If it's just that she's shedding a great deal, and just putting her in your lap brings more up, then you really need to brush her more regularly. I'm assuming she's an indoor cat - many of them need extra special help in this department (especially because it helps prevent nasty hairballs).

So, can you explain in a bit more detail the problem? If it's just shedding without patches of skin, etc. that are unhealthy, you will just need to brush her more often which will be an incredible help.

Good luck!
