Please help. We have 3 kittens. 5 months old. They have suddenly started jumping on to the kitchen counters and walking all over the stove and in the sink. My fear is that the stove may be hot, and they will get burnt. Also, if I am trying to cook, they get into everything.

I have tried the squirt bottle thing, and it doesn't cause a permanent behavior change. They know what down means, but they come right back and do it again. I don't want to hurt my kittens; they are my sweethearts, but on the other hand, I don't want to have to avoid cooking.

Thanks.

When I had kittens, I never left anything in the kiten on whithout my being there. I also got those child proof covers for the knobs on the stove - so that way kitty wouldn't accidently hurt himself or burn the house down!

I have heard from Hissy that I good idea also might to get those office chair mats - cut to size and place upside down where you don't want them to go - they are supposed to not like the feel of the nubbies on their foot pads

That would work for me! I don't like the feel of those "nubbies" on my foot pads, either!
