I'm also a rockabilly/psychobilly fan.

I haven't seen The Reverend Horton Heat - I missed them when they played here in Toronto last year, but I bet it was a good show.

Another one of the best shows I've been to was The Cramps, who I saw well over 10 years ago in a relatively small club. My ears were ringing for 2 weeks afterwards.

That is a hard one. I've seen some amazing shows... Iron Maiden is always awesome (seen them 3 times), Judas Priest and Alice Cooper (2 times each), Motley Crue are fabulous live too.

But the best show(s) I've seen ever are Nine Inch Nails. And each of the 3 times I've seen him were amazing in their own way. 1994 Downward Spiral was so cool because we got in before the show when he filmed the video for Hurt. The Nails-Bowie tour was just amazing to see Prick (who I loved and really wish they would have done better), Nine Inch Nails AND David Bowie on one stage. (Honestly thinking about it, that probably was the best ever.) And this last time was at a smaller venue, a more intimate setting (3,600 capacity as opposed to arenas where I've seen him previously, and we had fabulous seats). But any time I see Trent Reznor it's like a religious experience.

I've also been to so many shows... But the best so far have been (of course, I couldn't pick just one!) The Dead, Johnny Winter, Yes, Metallica and Dream Theater. I'll be able to add Allman Brothers to that list Friday night.

I have to agree with you that the Backstreet Boys, on this particular tour, have been the best concert I've ever attended -- and I think I've seen them in concert about 7 times!

I'm so happy that they're back, and you're right, they did look like they were having a blast which was really nice to see. I've been to so many different concerts spanning nearly every genre and they've always outperformed everyone else. It used to drive me nuts when people would make comments about me being a fan of theirs, but as I've gotten older I've come to realize that if you can't respect someone elses choices in music you've got some of your own issues to deal with! Whether they appreciate the fact that they have the vocal talent to back up their success is of not concern to me, so why waste the energy on it!

I have to pipe in on this one since I work in radio and have seen MANY concerts in the past few years... all of the Free (except NIN back in may).

The most intense concert that I have ever seen so yet in my life was last year...

Queensryche performing Operation: Mindcrime, live... once again but with the acting, full stage set up and props and the sound was amazing which made the experience amazing. This tour was the first ever in music history that it was performed in 5.1 digital surround sound. However, I was able to do something that most people haven't.

I was there to Interview Geoff Tate, the lead singer of Queensryche. After waiting a couple of hours, they came to get me and I got backstage. I met with the tour manager and she plopped me down at this table near the stage. She told me to sit here and told me that I was going to watch rehearsal, which is unheard of. That was very neat. After that was all and done we sat down and had the interview. However, after it was done 20 minutes later, I noticed that my mini disc recorder failed on me and didn't record the interview that I just did. Geoff was a sport about it and told me that after the concert if they had time, we could re-do it. I was slapped with an after show so I can meet up with him later and a photo-pass so I can shoot the concert.

Then it started. The concert was just absolutely amazing and felt like I was watching a film when the Mindcrime segment was performed. The sound was perfect and seeing one of the most acclaimed metal albums of the 80's performed and acted out before my eyes was mind-blowing. After the concert was done I was able to sit down with Geoff in the green room once again and we had the interview and yes, it was recorded.

That night was just amazing. It started at 1pm and ended at midnight... and I was able to hang out with a band that is one of my most favorite bands of all time. Truly an amazing experience that I will always remember for a very long time.

I saw Steve Vai... a famous guitar shredder this spring. My bf really wanted to go and he absolutely loved it! He kept wishing he was back at the concert. He had so much fun! i loved it too... vai made a few new fans that night. Hes quite the entertainer when he plays, and he perfers small venues so it can be more intimate. During a coupple songs he plays with lazers on his fingers!

momofmany, was it the SCOTS show in about late summer of '99? If it was, we were at the same show! We Link Wray the night before, and he was amazing! I miss KC sooooooo much. I was there for 2 years before my sweetie drug me back to GA kickin' and screamin". He put the cats in the U-Haul with him after 2 unsuccessful tries to get me to leave. He knew I would follow my babies.

Oh Rent is FANTASTIC!!!
Are you as excited as I am about the movie coming out this year???

Every year, a radio station in Atlanta has an all-day concert called Big Day Out. I went in '99 and saw Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Cake, and Live among others. Live gave the absolute BEST performance I have ever seen and instantly became one of my favorite bands that day. I cannot wait to see them in concert again!

Another thread reminded me. I saw Ted Nugent in Augusta, GA,many years ago. He swing out on to the stage on a big vine, wearing a loincloth with his huge guitar slung over his back. Also on the venue, Dr, Hook and the Medicine Show and The Amazing Rhythm Aces.

Bon Jovi on the Bounce tour. Aside from the fact that it was our first time being away from our daughter all night (she was just over a year old), Bon Jovi is one of my favorites. Hubby went with me, we drove a couple hours to Cincinnati, got up to the front of the lawn (the good seats were sold out by the time I convinced hubby to go), and had a ball. Goo Goo Dolls opened up, and Johnny Rzeznick is so easy on the eyes! Then Bon Jovi did an acoustic set (I love acoustic!), then the full electric show. I could barely speak the next couple of days! Lots and lots of fun.
I used to go to concerts where you could say that if you didn't come home with bruises, you didn't have fun, but I've kinda calmed down some since then!

Ok, I haven't been to a concert in years! I think the last concert I went to was in 1986 and it was Iron Maiden, that was the best!

Other good ones were Dio and the first concert I ever went to way back in I think 1973 (?) Alice Cooper.

Ya know, I think it was abou 1999 the first time that I saw SCOTS at the Grand Emporium. I would have been the woman with the long red hair dancing with the bald guy.
A friend from work told me I would like them and dragged hubby and I to the show. We've been going to see them ever since. One time drove out to Denver to see them. We wanted our friends that lived there to go to the show, and the only way to drag them out was to drive there and take them to it.

Liquored up, and laquored down......
