Hello I'm New Here

Hi everyone . Well.. I have been sitting at the computer for hours visiting various websites and came across this messageboard and did a LOT of reading here . You all seem like very caring and compasionate people . I see I cannot post attachments here but I believe there is a section here where I can later and I will link there later after I post her picture . My cat is 15 years old and she was born right in the driveway on the day I moved onto a farm I rented . Well my daughter named her Fat Pie ( yes thats her name and its not a joke) because she always liked to lick the pie plate when we had finished at the dinner table , as funny as the name seems , thats what she has been called . She has been diabetic for the last few years and lately she has lost a fair amount of weight , went into diabetic shock a day ago , which I rescued her from . Good thing the vet told me about corn syrup , if any of you have a diabetic cat you probably know the rescue scenario ( or should ) . I have an appt with my Vet on Monday and have a bad , bad feeling I wont have my cat anymore . To be honest I'm just not feeling like calling my daughter or my ex and saying how I feel at this point . I'm a middle aged guy and have tears right now and I havent even brought her in yet. I just have a bad feeling about it . Today she is a bit wobbly on her feet but she still looks cheery as hell and when I shake her treat bag she still comes trotting up to me but she hasnt the appetite to eat much . I just really needed to get some stuff out and will keep you all posted as to what happens . I will try and post her picture next .

Sorry your baby is sick. Don't assume the worst until you've seen the vet. I know it's hard to be optimistic when you're worried, but try. I'll be thinking of you and your kitty.

Upload your pictures at photobucket and then you can post them here by linking the URL. That's how I do it. I'm sure one of the mods or someone with more experience can guide you through it if you ask.

Again, welcome to the site. I've found it to be a wonderful, compassionate group of people who genuinely care about me and my cats. Best of luck to you.

Welcome to TCS....I'm so sorry for you....I do hope it turns out ok...but if it doesn't....just know that you have given this girl 15 wonderful years.

Hello everyone and thanks for the warm welcome and encouragement . I will try photobucket for the pics , thanks . I feel so much better just getting some feelings out about this on my first post . Wish I could say the same for FP . Tell ya , that Vet appt. tomorrow , cannot come soon enough .

Hello and thanks for the welcome . Just wanted to let you all know , I took the day off today and took her into the Vet as soon as they could see her and the results were bad . I have had tough decisions to make in my life but this was by far the hardest , harder than I thought possible . The Vet said her kidneys were practicaly non functioning at this point and she could hardly walk anymore . She went downhill very fast . We put her to sleep about a 1/2 hour ago . She was my sidekick for nearly a 1/3 of my life ( she was 15 this spring) and am going to miss her dearly !!! I'll post her picture and a little something over in The Bridge section , just dont feel like it now . Wish I had got to know some of you or all you a little better than under these circumstances .
