Hi all, I'm new here and just had 3 kittens (well not me, my cat) and we were trying to determine the sexes. I read that if you see two holes close together its a female, two holes further apart is male.

Well, each of the 3 kittens look exactly the same, there's a little hole (the anus) and then a small bulge (sac) below it. Which leads us to believe they are all male?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, Lee

Both male and female kittens have two openings in the anal area. They are closer together in the female. The one closest to the tail in both sexes is the anus. In a female, the vulva is a vertical slit almost joined to the anus like an upside down exclamation mark. In a male, the tip of the penis is hidden in a small round opening about 1/2 inch below the anus. Testicles in a male kitten usually become obvious when the kitten is about 6 weeks old and clearly visible in an adult male who is not neutered. If you are still unable to determine the sex of your cat, take it to your local veterinarian for a physical examination as he/she would be in the best position to advise you.

I got this from the Purina site..However, someone did post an illustration once I believe so you could search the forums..
I remember that the females look like upside down exclamation points and the boys look more like colons if that helps

Are mama cat and babies going to be spayed/neutered when the kittens are weaned?
