Left in charge of lunch today.....

Good grief....I can't cook, what in the devil am I doing here?! Hub had to deliver breakfast an hour away, come back and take one lunch two hours in the other direction, whilst I delivered one here in town.....so.....guess who had to cook the lunches today?,,,,,,and I succeeded! Menu was simple.....grilled chicken, salad, fried green tomatoes/squash, with one getting cheesy potatoes and the other having baked potatoes......wheeeee! Lol, gotta say I'm proud of myself, nonetheless!

I like them. My Gram used to fix them for me all the time when I was young. When I saw a local chain (Grindstone Charleys) advertised they had green fried tomatoes, I had to go to dinner there They weren't the same as Gram's though

What do you do, just bread them and then fry the up?

Mmm fried green tomatoes.

Dredge em in cornmeal and pan fry them, yum!
I don't grow tomatoes though, and I can find green ones locally

Well, the restaurant used a cornmeal breading, but I think gram used a flour and egg type breading . I will have to ask her
