Hello.
I posted a few days ago about my 4 month Persian kitten, Olga. She has scaly, dry skin by one of her ears and on one paw. The paw seems sore. I took her to the vet who said it was mange and it would sort itself out. She said she doesn't have ear mites because there are no scratch marks and she isn't scratching or shaking her head.
Today I have noticed that there are more dry scaly spots on her head and neck, some of them are black. I don't think it's ringworm. Any ideas what it might be? Will it go away by itself? Any ideas would be very welcome. I'm so worried about her although she doesn't seem to be in any discomfort.
Thanks. x

Uhm...you need a new vet to see your cat. Mange will NOT go away on its own, and requires treatment or it will spread. My word! click here for info on feline scabies which is highly contagious, and click here for second article on notoedric mange aka feline scabes - has photos then click here for info on demodectic mange in cats - rare

I saw one note on the rarer form, where it said it might resolve on its own, but as you can see from the articles on the notoedric (feline scabies) that is highly contagious, will not resolve on its own. So...you need a diagnosis of which kind - if your vet did not do a skin scraping to identify, call them back, let them know it is spreading, and request that they do this. Or, get a second opinion - ASAP.
