Ok, yesterday I took his temp with a mercury one, he let me keep it in almost 2 minute and it came out 100.5. I know less than 3 minutes can be off, but not more than a .5 degree right?

Today he almost killed me when I tried it again so I gave up. now do you think I need to do it again? He looks good, is energetic, eating.

I wouldn't bug him with it again if he seems like he's doing better. I had to take Olivers temp once and he gave me this look like "are you nuts woman!"

If he's eating and seems perky I would just let him be for a day or so--if he seems like he starts to backslide then I would take his temp again, but it sounds like he's on the mend!

Yeah thanks. I figure between pouring anti biotics down him and taking his temp twice (once at the vets) that is plenty for a 48 hour period.
