I just discoverd a small lump on the right side of my kitten's neck, right under her jaw. She is primarily an indoor cat, but ventures outside a couple of times a week. It doesn't appear to be causing her pain, and she seems to be very happy. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it might be?

Well it could be many things... Acutarebra, a cyst, a fatty lump... How old is your cat? How long has she had the lump?

She's about 4 1/2 months old. I just found it today when I was petting her under her chin.

I would take her to the vet just to have it checked.. It is probably nothing, but better safe then sorry. Let me know what it is.

Yup, to the vet! Lumps can be ANYTHING and you can never be too careful with them... especially in young kitties... older cats and dogs frequently get fatty, non-cancerous lumps (not to say young ones don't) that vets will usually leave alone as long as they don't grow too big or inhibit the animal's daily life... good luck and keep us updated!
