I was away from my Ollie for about 2.5 weeks while on vacation with my family
... my boyfriend was watching after my little monster... well when I came back, I noticed he had a small (quarter-sized at the biggest) spot on his left cheek that was kinda crusty at the skin, it wasn't real hard and pretty much flaked right off
... other than that, everything about him is exactly the same: physically and behaviorally
... well I sat him in my lap and brushed out his cheek... a little bit of hair came out with the crusties but it's not like he even has the smallest bald spot or anything... I don't want to overreact and run right to the vet, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas... Jim (my bf) said he hadn't noticed it all all when he would come check on Oliver... I was gonna see how things go over a few days after brushing it out... see if it continues or spreads, etc before making a vet appointment (yeah, I'm definitely a broke college student, but if he needs to go, he will definitely go one way or another)... any ideas or suggestions? Thanks guys!

Did it look like his skin created the crusties or could it have been some food stuck to his fur? I have one cat whose a very messy eater, and he always seems to have food in his fur.
