I have a 5 month old cat who eats 6-7ounzes of food per day. I know growing kittens require more food than adults, but my 2 year old cats eats about the same amount. The five month old weighs 5.5lbs, is this normal weight? I feed 3 times per day and there usually is some food left.

I would go more by how much you can pinch (gently
). If the kitten isn't boney, nor getting obese, I'd not worry about it. Different breeds or breed mixes mature to different weights, and take varying times to do so. I know my American Curls acquired more muscle mass and heavier bone at age 3-4..a def. difference from when they were 2.

The amount you are feeding I can't comment on since if wet or dry (and depending on brand) the recommended amount to feed varies.

I'm leaning toward 5 on the scale I sent you a link to...since you can also look top down and feel rib cage etc., where do you put him on that scale?
