Today seems the day for big spiders...

I found one sitting on the wall in the computer room this morning just staring at me...eeeeuuuuwww. Being an arachnaphobe it was big-time freak out session. Hubby wouldn't leave work to deal with for me (pfft what good is it marrying a big strong man if they don't come running
) So I ended up phoning a friend and she sent her hubby over.

What was funny tho is that he came carrying a fly swatter! But I do have a bit of reputation with spiders...but when he came into the room he just looked at the spider and then at the swatter and asked if I have a dustbin to catch it in.
We took a pic as proof that it actually was a big spider and he removed it and set it free in a field next to the complex.

I am so gonna buy him a big thank you gift.

Yay for not killing the beastie!! I may not like them, but they don't deserve to die

Now if it was a really big spider, imagine the splattering that would have happened with that fly swatter?!

I don't want any spider on me, but I can coexist with them peacefully enough, now to convince the cats to stop eating them....

I do have a pet tarantula, but her terrarium box is very securely locked!

Will post the pic as soon as I get it off my phone and onto the pc. It really looks like a blob on my phone thanks to shaky hands and peering around the door.

I don't like killing spiders either, but I don't want them in my house either.

What did your kitty do? It seems like a kitty would go after it, given their predatory nature.

Luckily the kitties were already napping for the day at that point otherwise I'd be chasing them around to drop the darn thing.

I have a friend that CRIES when she sees a spider. We went to Petsmart one day and they were in the cage. She was walking past and didnt realize they were in there until she looked to the left.... I was so embarrased by her reaction!!
She screamed as if someone was killing her!! Workers came running over and nothing was even wrong!!

Never will I go into a pet store with her again.
Even worse... my 16 year old brother in law does the EXACT SAME thing when he sees snakes. On T.V. even.....
