I have a cat named Frisky. I found a wound on his face by his ear a couple of nights ago, it's about a quarter size, there's puss coming out of it. It looks like a hole with puss in it. I put peroxide on it frequently yesterday. I believe he got into a fight with another animal but I don't think there would only be one hole, a bite would be more than that. Does anyone think he may have gotten bitten by something else? The area itself is hard and when you squeeze it, puss comes out. All his hair around the area is falling out little by little. Help me to decide if I should take him to the vet or if I should just continue putting peroxide on it.
Thanks.

You should call and make him an appointment for sooner than later at the vet. If it is infected he might need medication.

Your cat has an abscess that is infected. He needs antibiotics and he needs to stay indoors until this heals. If he isn't neutered, then neutering him will stop his need to fight with others. But please get him to the vet immediately all hydrogen peroxide is doing for him is burning the tissue-

I agree with everyone else. Time to see the vet.

I agree with the others. Hope you're able to take your kitty to the vet soon.

I agree. Please let us know how he's doing!

And I was told never to put peroxide on wounds. It drives infection deeper into the tissues.
