A lot of companies make indoor kitty food and I was wondering how these formulas are different from regular kitty chow. What is the difference in the nutritional needs of an indoor kitty compared to an outdoor kitty?

Temperatures, lighting, and lack of exercise makes the difference between what indoor and outdoor cats experience. Indoor formulas (at least, Nutro's indoor, I don't know about others) have antioxidants for the immune system, more linoleic acid for the coat, Taurine, DHA for the nervous system/vision, FiberClean to help pass hairballs through the system, OdorCheck to reduce stool odor, Advanced Dental Care for clean teeth. Easy to digest, less shedding, fewer hairballs, low magnesium (max .085%).

I typed most of that from the booklet they put out for the Nutro Complete Care foods. I'm switching my fatty cats to the Indoor Weight Management, since my efforts to reduce Gizmo's weight let her gain a pound!

Natural Choice also has Indoor Kitten and Indoor Weight Management now. My Petsmart has it, but not on the shelf (I'm there for work and saw it on the pallet). Gizmo and Sasha are going on the Indoor W.M. ASAP!
It's on the website www.nutroproducts.com

Me too! Dontcha just love that job?
It was about 10 days ago that they got it in, but it has since disappeared. I'm not sure where it went. Maybe in the pallets up top. I wish they'd put it out, I'll have to get after someone tomorrow and make them get it down for me. I need that WM for Gizzie!

If you have Male cats it is better to stick to Iams, Eukanuba etc. They have a better chance of becoming blocked from cheaper brands=(

I would put Nutro up against Iams or Eukanuba any day. Have you compared their ingredients and guaranteed analysis etc?

Hey, I'm a demonstrator for Nutro too!
I put my one cat on the Indoor Adult and the other one on the Indoor Weight Management (they were both on the Indoor Adult for 1 month until the weight management one came out and on regular Adult and weight management before that) and I swear their coats are even nicer than they were before.

I went through the link on the webpage, and a few days later I got an email from the territory demo manager for this area. I responded with the info they wanted, and like 2 weeks later still hadn't heard back. So I sent an email saying I was still interested, and next thing I know, my phone was ringing! They got me set up with training and I started like 2 weeks later. I've been doing it since late March of this year. I love going in the pet stores and getting people off cheap crappy food, and then getting to see thier dogs (most people don't bring cats) later and seeing how much better they look. It's a great feeling!

how big are the kibble pieces for the indoor formula? i have a coupon for a free bag on natural choice and we're thinking of trying the indoor formula when we're done with this bag of cat food. they are currently on sensible choice adult, which has good sized kibble, but not as big as the natural choice adult/kitten. so i was wondering how the indoor kibble compares? thanks! :bump:

well...it depends! The kitten kibble is pretty good, not TOO small, but not big. If you go to petsmart or petco there's pictures of the kibble on the shelf. They've made the kibble smaller, but both sizes are still on the shelf. the ones with a blue ribbon that say "new smaller kibble!" have the small pieces. You can also go to www.nutroproducts.com and find the food, then click on "see product image" to see what it looks like. But even the bigger kibble works great with my cats.
